The Bible guarantees its own truthfulness by deriving its origination from the inspiration of God. The term inspiration comes from 2 Timothy 3:16 which says that "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God." The word translated as inspiration means "God-breathed" as translated by the New International Version. The Greek word for inspiration is heopneustos which comes from the words "God" and "breath." Consequently, the biblical writers were not inspired in the same way a great composer writes a song. Biblical writers were instructed by God to communicate that which they had received from God (2 Pet. 1:21).

I guess dictionary.com has it all wrong, then, on the "inspire" entry:
[Origin: 130050; ME "inspiren" < L "inspîrâre" to breathe upon or into , equiv. to "in-" + "spîrâre" to breathe ]
Really, sometimes the answers are right in front of your faces.
Very nice, any outside sources?, because, you know ALL SACRED BOOKS FROM ALL RELIGIONS ARE NOT WRITTEN BY MORONS WHO CLAIM THAT THE RELIGION THEY DESCRIBE IS BULLSHIT. I mean, try to tell it to a Hindu or just a Catholic like me. It´s like quoting Cosmopolitan or Paris Match.
This logic is so perfectly circular, you could use it to calculate pi to a hundred decimal places.
The fundies have already done that, and they get 3.00000000000...
Which matches perfectly with what was said in 1 Kings and once again proves the truthiness of the Bible.
So, the error-ridden, confusing. patently false, heap of lousy fairy tales is the very word of God because it says it's the very word of God? I'm afraid I'll need a little more verification than just that.
You spin me 'round, baby, 'round right 'round... ...like that fundie logic, right 'round, 'round 'round.

But remember the post the other day? Pi is affected by gravitation pull as well!
Well, the Bible's statements that is it the true word of God is only a valid proof if you already believe it is the true word of God, and therefore require no proof that it is the true word of God.
Round and round the logic goes.
Unfortunately, what you wrote could do the same given a tweak. I could do the same here.
If you need to, just accept all word is God's word (surely you agree on some level), and that he just has a certain tactic of misinformation. Then you may win a debate or two, and you may have to form your own ideas on what is right.
It just makes things so much more solid
So, in essence, you say that the Bible must be true, because it says so in the Bible?
Circular reasoning or what?
Actually, doof, the Bible hadn't even been compiled at the time Paul made that statement to Timothy.
Instead, Paul was telling Timothy that all the writings currently held as scripture at that point were equally valid to teach with.
A tiny amount of circular reasoning there Frank.
Were the writers of the Bible also inspired to include all the contradictions, or did that come about from the collation, translation and blatant cherry picking from multiple older sources?
And yet, the writers of the bible still made some very significant contradictions and left key points of the doctrine unclear. If they were all inspired by the same god, that god must be insane or grossly dishonest.
Confused?
