I’m going to keep repeating my solution to save USA…we need LIE DETECTOR TESTS for all politicians & government bureaucrats…Ask “Have you sold us out?” Are you bribed? Blackmailed? On China’s payroll? Or Big Pharma? Or Mexican Drug Cartel.” This is how we save USA.

Polygraph is pretty undependable, though. Besides, they look for nervousness. High-functioning sociopaths will slip through the tests (Trump-adherent or otherwise), so you won’t get the hale nation (that I presume) you want.

Who will weasel-word the questions and emerge victorious.
And, really, they’re going to be the ones to come up wiht the list of acceptable questions in the first place.
And nothing like ‘Do you take bribes?’ or ‘Have you ever taken a bribe?’ but ‘In your current view, can it be proven to the level of impeachment and conviction that you voted on anything in a way that it would be impossible for you to have voted without being influenced by or in spite of a large monetary sum being deposited in your campaign chest and/or your Swiss bank account, keeping in mind that even worthy causes have used direct influence in the past. Yes or No.”
"Ask “Have you sold us out?””
You never played D&D, did you? Give me a 17 year old DM and let him treat the question like one of his players getting a wish.
Right off the bat, if you ask me that and I AM dirty, i’d simply concentrate on the fact that i sold YOU out, no all of US.
Or ‘sold’ involves a change of ownership. You’re still free, not slaves. I just took a lot of money to tank that trade deal.
Or SOLD OUT means an end to a product. THere are still plenty of ways i can get money for fucking you over.
“This is how we save USA.”
And when you don’t find the evidence to lock ANYONE up, you will cry that the tricksy dems are so psychotic they defeat a lie detector!

On the one hand, i begin to doubt that Trump ever actually lies. Words come in, his brain cooks like rancid kimchee, and he determines which reality puts him in the best light. And that’s what comes out.
On the other hand, pretty sure the detector’s going to SPIKE at every question because Trump will have an emotional reaction to it. Fear that he won’t get it right, fear that it’ll be twisted out of context, fear that what HE thinks is the right answer is not what the public wants to hear.
Unless you only use them as a record of stress, using those signals in attempt to determine if someone is lying is pseudoscience. For the same reason, if it was actually working, you'd not be promoting it, because of all the lies we're seeing being pushed by your acolytes... Also, you don't really want the government to be the Scientology cult, do you? Oh. You do.
Adding: assuming that technology could reliably detect if someone believes to be saying a lie or not, it would not allow to confirm it. Someone may really believe in falsehoods and make false claims with confidence. To determine if something is true, you need proper methods and reliable sources.
Let’s polygraph you, Wayne, and if it shows any signs of deception, you have to sit down and shut the fuck up forever. Deal?
…wait, what do you mean, polygraph tests are sometimes “wrong”??
Confused?
