They declared war on a flag?
Doubtful.
They were fighting a country, a populace. Not a freaking piece of fabric.
How dare you protest when people died for your right to protest, volume 702,864.
And this screeching and whining about people 'disrespecting' a bit of cloth is getting really fucking tiring.
They left out the next frame, the one where the player says "Thank you for your service and great sacrifice sir. It's men and women like you who defend our Nation and Constitution and maintain our freedom to express ourselves with peaceful protest of things we feel are wrong and unbecoming our great nation. This display of calculated disrespect is not directed at you or any veterans." (Read the post that agentCDEs post directs to. As a disabled veteran myself I completely agree with what it says.)
Also notice that by caliph combat opponents "enemies of the flag," the comic suggests they are on the same "team" as anybody seen as disrespecting the flag for any reason. So, in this person's imagination, failure to salute the flag, stand for the anthem, recite the Pledge of Allegiance, or vote Republican makes you exactly the same as a Nazi, Stalinist, Isis member, or college professor.
I suppose we should be grateful they aren't shooting at us.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
