Conservative political commentator Matt Walsh, is now condemning anime as "satanic."
"I think it's all satanic," Walsh says in the clip. "I have no argument for it. I have no argument for why it's satanic. It just seems that way to me."
"All anime to me seems weird—just like bizarre, creepy," he continued. "And in general, I don't think that adults should be—whether it's anime or any other kind of cartoon—with rare exception, adults really shouldn't be watching cartoons in general, I would say."

I appreciate that he's upfront about "I don't like/understand this, it must be evil."
Usually they aren't so open about it. It's still a shitty opinion and Matt Walsh continues to be human trash, but do like how he's not trying to hide bis bias behind word salad or shitty arguments. It's almost refreshing.
…and yet, it took just one thing to open up an entire country to something new: animation from Japan. Do you know what it was, Matty-boy?
“Superbook”.
Created by Pat Robertson: he is the one directly responsible for your country becoming the biggest market outside of Japan for Anime, thus the increased output from those studios to fill that demand. So I’m afraid that it’s your ‘God’ you have to thank. And as it was he who put the underage child bride Mary in Le Club Pudding, weird creepy deity, weird creepy follower.
There’s no argument for more than just your opinions: or your right to so much as think of having such about anyone not exactly like you, least of all about anything you don’t like. Because as proved above, hypocrites don’t have the right to have opinions. Ever. Also, Matthew 7:1. We don’t need to think: we know you’re worse than Satan. Wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a future anime adaptation of “DOOM Eternal”.
Which included the revelation that the Evil One is God.
My first thought was “sounds like an old man ranting about something he doesn’t understand.” Well, that’s basically true except for the “old” part, I guess. I just looked it up, he’s 37. Not an “old man” from my perspective at least, as I’m 46 and enjoy anime/cartoons myself, lol.
And why in the blue hell should adults not watch animation anyway? As he didn’t give a reason for that, I can only guess. Because it’s “for kids” perhaps? That’s obviously a BS reason, if that’s what he’s thinking. As we know, a lot of it, not only anime but western animation as well, is clearly geared toward adult audiences. Even some “kids shows” throw in a joke or reference or something that only the adults watching would probably get.
Well, as an anime lover myself, this is more proof that if a fundie like Matt hates it, it (by definition) must do something good.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to continue counting down the clock ‘till saturday the 8th of July, when the next season of Bleach starts airing on Disney+. After all, in Bleach
spoiler God is dead and we killed him. And then we keep using his corpse as a figurehead to keep pretending we’re in the right.

How arrogant do you have to be to just come out and tell your followers that your opinion is baseless, but still expect it to be accepted?
Usually total fuckheads only admit their fears/accusations are baseless on cross examination.
I don’t care what you say, adults get to decide what we do and what/how we think. Thankfully none of us have to listen to you, care what you think, or do what you say.
I happen to love stop-motion animation. And guess what! I don’t care what you think about it or me! Go take your satanic bullshit somewhere else.
Well, he’s almost right, 99% of anime is garbage. But then again, that can be applied to pretty much every form of media out there.

I've viewed the first 44 episodes of the original Bleach (2004-2011). About to view 45th & wanting to view the rest. So FSTDT commenters no spoilers please. By the way did Matt Walsh know that Dana Loesch, fellow conservative political commenter likes anime?

Made in the style of Studio Ghibli.
When Anime has become so mainstream in the US: from Pat Robertson commissioning Tatsunoko Productions to make “Superbook” which opened people’s eyes (and thus a new audience) to another country’s form of animation decades ago right up to Netflix doing the same with Studio Trigger to make “BNA: Brand New Animal” for them in 2020, that the above - in this instance to advertise Oregon - was inspired by the visuals created by no less than living national treasure of Japan Hayao Miyazaki: thus is the influence he’s had, I’d say that state got it just right.
It’s only you that’s more than slightly exaggerated, Matty-boy.
The absolute state of the conservative hypocrite.

Hey, don’t worry, it’s why I spoiler tagged it. Anyway, enjoy your Bleach experience! Though might I warn you to watch out for Fillers? Bleach tends to have a lot of them, and they do interrupt the flow of the main story a lot.

Did you know Pat Robertson died 8.6.23? I tried submitting this quote from him but it didn't make it : But to tell them it's all sweetness and light, you can live the way you want to, I'm okay, you're okay. If you're drinking and fornicating and cheating and stealing and lying and greedy and all the rest of it, it's okay. You're okay. You're an American, don't worry about it. Boy, that, folks, is what you'd call a lie of Hell. And the one thing the devil would like to do is to keep us from believing in him, or believing in any kind of punishment because we don't like punishment.
But what the Bible says is, there will be a death, a great divide. You're either going to go to one or the other. And if you say to God now, "I don't want You. I will not receive You. I will not submit to You," then at the end of your life God will say, "I'm going to give you your desire. You said you wanted to live without me, so I'm going to let you have your wish forever." You decide.
He condemns being dishonest & greedy. Most FSTDT believe he's dishonest & greedy. But still, the quote didn't make it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
