Atheists and Satanists have a lot in common, they both hate God & Worship Satan.

Atheists do not hate God. God does not exist. We may hate the idea of God, and what that idea has done to society.
Atheists do not worship Satan. Satan does not exist. Without a God there is no Satan.
Naveymom, zero for two. Try again.
Satanists believe in God. Atheists don't.
Satanists believe in Satan, Atheists don't
Satanists worship Satan (at least, that's what they say. A lot of people are in to kick some heels of the "established order."), atheists don't.
Well, you got some things correct, you used the comma and period in the right places.
I won't pretend to any authority to speak for Satanism, but this post is about as stupid as it can be with regard to atheism. Atheists, by definition, don't believe that God (ANY god) even exists; therefore, they do not "hate" something they don't even believe in, and they don't worship the equally fictitious enemy of something they consider fictitious. Learn what words means before you use them, please.

This is news to me. But wouldn't Atheists who worship satan be .. satanists?
Navymom, we will take up a collection and buy you a dictionary. But first, if you want to have clear and correct answers, check in your new dictionary .. don't ask your minister. There seems to be a definite conflict of interest there.
While you wait for your new lexicon we will provide for your edification a clarification on these two world views.
Atheists do not hate god (any of them) because that would require believing in them or in at least in the existance of them.
Satan is a god so it follows that Atheists don't worship that myth, either. Especially since satan is the counterpart to the xtian god and that myth, of course, doesn't exist either.
See? And you were all worked up over nothing.
You don't know what atheism is, so you should shut up and do some research.
We atheists understand that neither God nor Satan are real. We do not worship anything, and we don't hate imaginary beings.
I think very few of those few who call themselves Satanists actually believe in and worship Satan. Most of them claim Satanism for it's shock value, as humor or some other non-religious reason.

Here's one.
I've posted this before, but I'll go ahead and post it again...
Satan-worshippers and Satanists are entirely different. Satan-worshippers worship the actual persona of Satan; Satanists merely practice a leftist sort of religion where they put emphasis on wordly pleasure and worldly life. They refer to themselves as "Satanists" because the idea of immersing oneself in worldly and what the Religious Right refer to as "sinful" pleasures is thought to be inspired by Satan. Most Satanists do not actually "worship" the persona of Satan; he is just their religion's namesake.
From Wikipedia:
Satanism is a religion based upon the philosophy of Anton Szandor LaVey as outlined in The Satanic Bible and other works.
"Satan" is appropriated as a positive symbol of this worldview, an archetype or the ultimate symbol of the self and egotism. LaVey explains that Satan is only a symbol in an interview with Washington Post magazine.
...
The Satanist does not believe in the Judeo-Christian-Islamic idea of God; the function of God is performed and satisfied by the Satanist him/herself. That is, the needs of worship, ritual, and religious/spiritual focus are directed, effectively, inwards towards the Satanist, as opposed to outwards, towards God.
LaVey proposes instead that as all gods are creations of man, worship of an external deity is worship of its creator by proxy. He suggests, then, that the rational Satanist should instead internalize his god, and therefore worship himself; hence the Satanic maxim, "I am my own god."
It's actually self-worship, not devil worship.
*steps off soapbox*
Actually, we hate god in the same way we hate Santa, or the Tooth Fairy. Sigh.
Please, do us a favour and read up on those things before you comment on them. I mean, how hard is it? We know about the Christian faith, too - so why can't you go and educate yourselves on atheism, just a bit?
How can we hate god when he isn't even there? Conversely, how is it then even possible for us to worship satan who has apparently been created by that god [who doesn't exist]?
Navymom, you're an idiot.
NEXT!
Atheists do not hate God, as they do not believe God exists. Some of us hate particular religions for the sort of shit that happens in their name.
Atheists do not worship Satan, as they do not believe Satan exists. (Ironically, Satanists do not believe Satan exists either - they view him as a positive symbol of individualism, nothing more. At least, if Wikipedia can be believed.)
It would be difficult for your post to be less correct than it is. I've seen it done, but not often.
Christians believe in God.
Christians also believe in Satan.
Atheists, by definition, have no reverence for any supernatural being, quite simply because they do not exist.
Christians, therefore, are more Satanic than any atheist ever could be.
Actually, I'm a Santaist...I worship Santa. (And if you think he doesn't exist, then who ate the cookies I left out Xmas Eve? And what about the reindeer with the big, red nose, huh?)
You're wrong on all counts. Atheists don't hate god or worship satan, because they believe in neither. And satanists don't hate god because they don't believe in him, and not all satanists actually engage in the worship of a supernatural being. Some think that satan is just a force of nature. Sorry, you lose.
