[Why do whales and humans have the same number of bones in their bodies?]
Only God would know. If you are implying we evolved from whales, that impossible, how would we be able to breath in air?

Humans and all species of whale are mammals, Sharing a common ancestor...
...
That said we do NOT have the same number of bones as any species of whale.
(Although the numbers are close,)
Humans and whales both breath air in vapour form.
Honestly, do you think that this guy is not a troll?, every sigle kid from 9 onwards knows that whales breath air too. And only God knows..............it´s like waving a white flag, what a real fundie never permits.
@Esjeur:
Actually, whales evolved from dog-like creatures called mesonychids which, despite their appearance, are not closely related to wolves; rather, they're related to horses, hippopotami, and other hoofed animals.
EDIT: Someone beat me to it, apparently. Well, I still gave more information...
Well, maybe he´s not a troll, he´s just homeschooled. Only God knows it´s like, "ok, I admit that somebody else is doing the tough job, I just don´t care"
Yes, Poonerpoob is not the original author of this sentence, he was quoting someone from unnamed another forum. But it is hilarious anyway :)
Whales and humans do not have same number of bones though. Maybe the question was meant to be "Why humans and whales have the same bones in body?" That means, homology.
@TheMissus
God, you people are stupid. Whales are clearly fish. The Bible says so,
Whoa! I thought they were the Kind; behemoth, or leviathon, or some such.
No, humans did not evolve from whales, as both species are living at the same time, i.e. now. We have a common ancestor though, long before a somewhat dog-like species went to live in the sea.
Whales do breathe air, stupid.
Thanks Laurel, I kinda suspected that wasn't true. It's the similarities in bone structure that's important, and as we get closer to the human shapes (Apes, Monkeys) these similarities increase
Some whales have leftover leg bones that serve no purpose in their form now, some humans have leftover tail bones that also serve no purpose. Evolutions a graduating process, these vestigel remnants of earlier forms was some of the first validations of Darwins theory
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
