Art Looney is missing the point. Stand during the National Anthem, with your hand over your heart, respectfully and then PLAY BALL! I don’t care that your spoiled snowflake millionaire team members come from all backgrounds. During the Anthem we are ALL Americans. If you can’t do that one simple thing, then GTFO.

The point about kneeling is that to the players, and coaches, in the eyes of the law not ALL Americans are equal, can you not understand that one simple thing?
Yeah, and being U.S. citizens entitles them to certain rights. Like the right to freedom of speech, the right to protest and the right to refuse to honor the flag & anthem to name a few relevant ones. Why do you hate freedom, Exit82?
I stand for the national anthem because that's my choice. I would like to think I'm a veteran at least in part to protect the rights of U.S. Citizens to exercise their personal choice, as delineated in the Constitution I took an oath to uphold. One reason I'm drawn to this website is the exasperation I feel about the sheer number of people who feel they have a right to dictate the limits of other peoples choices because a mythological being I don't believe in directs them to.
That's right. We're all Americans. Even the Blacks and Hispanics who are being targeted and discriminated against. Hence why the players decided to kneel.
Is there seriously something wrong with protesting ill treatment of a group in America?
Yes, because Americans always fall into lockstep with authority and never protest no matter what. Wait...
Perhaps someone needs to be reacquainted with the first amendment. Which includes the right to peaceful protest. And if the NFL had a problem with it, they could fine or suspend players. Which they aren't as far as I'm aware. Which means they have more respect for the player's rights than you do. Guess it's time for you to boycott the NFL, eh? Maybe you'll find something productive to do with your nights and weekends.
You mean like this?

Those millionaires are using their platform to protest the treatment of non-millionaire black people, who are somehow less than American.
Being forced to do something is not being respectful, you dolt!
Speaking about spoiled snowflakes, while throwing a temper tantrum over people respectfully taking the knee during the National Anthem...
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
