Prove to me He [God] doesn't [exist]. Other argument: Think about Earth. If it were any closer to the sun, we'd all fry. If it were any farther away, we'd all freeze. If the Earth wasn't tilted at precisely 23 1/2 (I think, but that's not the point) degrees, the polar ice caps would melt and we'd all drown. Do you really think that all that can happen just by chance?

[<a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&version=NIV&passage=judges+11%3A29-40">Human sacrifice</a> in the Bible?]

Judges 11:31
"Then whatever or whoever comes forth from the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the Ammonites, it shall be the Lord's, and I will offer it or him up as a burnt offering."

Judges 11:34-36
"When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of tambourines! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter. When he saw her, he tore his clothes and cried, 'Oh! My daughter! You have made me miserable and wretched, because I have made a vow to the LORD that I cannot break.'" ------------------

"Ah, WinAce, I suppose you've already made up your mind to ignore everything anyone says? Good for you. Now, on with the answering...and the laughing.

While Jephthah states that he will sacrifice his daughter as a burnt offering, there's no real indication that he does. The later verses [like "At the end of two months she returned to her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed. She never mated with a man...."] just don't support this (and considering the Bible usually states these things in vivid detail...). In fact, the later verses would tend to support the view that the girl was to remain a virgin.

Why else would she bewail her virginity? Why else would she be so very sad about not being married? You all might want to keep in mind, as well, that Leviticus 22:18-19 only allows male cattle (or whatever other animal) to be sacrificed as a burnt offering. The far more likely conclusion to this tale (and the sacrifice) was his daughter's virginity being permanent (making him none too happy since he'd have no male heir).

Just to make sure I've gotten my point across, I should probably mention again that the text never states that his (Jephthah's) daughter dies. All we have is a girl bewailing her virginity and the text only stating that "she was a virgin". Now you may proceed to dismiss this with high and mighty sounding words.

I have to say that homosexuality isnt something you are born with like a brain tumor or something. If you are born homosexual then its a habit that you inherited from somewhere, and it can be "cured" if that person wishes to be. I dont care to argue about this so I probably wont be back in here, so let me say this. I dont have anything against homosexual people or what they do as long as it doesnt involve me.

Most, if not all of, the greatest tyrants who ever lived and commited the greatest atrocities that were ever conceived of were highly intelligent, well educated etc.... so it's safe to say that the people who are the deadliest are the best educated people. They sorely need Jesus' teachings of love, acceptance and humility.

Did you all know that or justice system is based on the precepts of the Bible? It's true. The Bible was around much longer than our modern justice system, and in Leviticus God maps out the plan for judges.

Most of the Constitution is also based on biblical precepts.

[On Jesus--and boy, does this guy need a history lesson]

So that fact that he came back to life(which has been historically verified), and the many miracles he performed that were confirmed historically from outside the Christian populace don't count as verifiable?

[Count the clichés and logical fallacies!]

But anyway, I can prove. I only can remember a few things, since there is so much proof. Here's a list of some stuff:

-Jesus has been proven to be a real person. And if this man, who really did exist, died and resurrected, you cant deny that God exists.

-If you use logic and think about it, you can see that its nonsense to deny the Bible if so many people, even some of the most intelligent people, believe in it.

-If you do something like steal, lie about something major, kill, cheat on someone, you'd feel guilty. The reason is cause it is a sin and isnt right so the Lord is "telling you not to".

-There is evidence of Noah's ark existing. They've found parts. They've found fossils of creatures in high elevations where they'd never naturally be able to reach. The flood is what made those creatures reach such a high spot. Also, the North and South Pole are icy places. These icy places, if melted, would flood the world. See, these icy places are the frozen flood water. They havent melted again because the Lord promised he wouldnt do it again. And if the Noah's ark story is true, then logically it wouldnt make sense if the rest of the Bible were lies.

-theres more that I cant remember, and probably even more I never even knew. There's plenty of evidence and reasons to believe in God.

Christians have simply perceived God. We have witnessed His moving in the lives of others, and have intuited His presence and guidance in our own lives.

This is the most important aspect of our faith; this is what makes our faith personal and experienced. There are other, less important contributions to Christian faith, such as historical, scientific, and philosophical evidence and the profound overall coherence of Christianity as a worldview, but these are negligible when compared to the Christian experience.

[On the individual books comprising the Bible being written by different authors over the span of many years]

Just because it says that each book was written by a different person doesn't mean that it was.

Think of it this way, if the record that "The Inferno" was written by Dante, not just starring Dante, was lost during publication, people might have falsely accepted it as fact. We might have the Book of Dante.

Uh, I heard recent "scientific" discovery that the core of our earth...that's right, that hot, steaming core. Apparently, some scientists shoved some microphone below the earth's surface, and they recorded agonizing screams of human misery.

Not to mention the irrefutable Nine Gates of Hell scattered around the earth. If you're skeptical, may I suggest that you visit at least one of them?
