Vashti was being disobedient to her husband. He wanted her to come and join in the feast, but she said no and made him look bad in front of all the people. They weren't having a drunken orgy, and we know that because the Bible says they were drinking according to the law, which means that any wine was not alcoholic.

While I agree the OP is a willfully naive idiot, I gotta call out some posters here,

I personally enjoy a lot of dealcoholized wine, beer and mocktails

I happen to be one of the 'lucky' few people that has a SEVERE intolerance to anything with alcohol in it, anything above .5% ABV even if it's a cheap watered down beer *cough*bud*cough* and I'm hanging my head in the toilet for the next two hours

It gets frustrating at times because there's such a social inclusiveness attached to drinking (not even getting shitfaced, but just drinking in general) if you say you don't drink AT all, people start to lump you in with preachy temperance movement types, and then when you say it's for medical/health issues they tend to lump you into the "I'm gluten free because it's trendy" types

So yeah people hating on n/a wine and beer is sort of a pet peeve of mine, I've heard people in the same breath say "it has nothing to do with the alcohol, it's all about the taste.....but if it can't get you drunk then what's the point?"

There is some tasty stuff out there if you look for it, Ariel Vinyards makes a good merlot, and Kaliber (made by Guinness) is some damn good stuff for example

She said no because she wasn’t an houri for the king. She’d been working on the feast for the women those kings brought with them.

No, they were drinking wine for DAYS when the King got the idea that his wife should dance before them, to show how hot she was (and glofifying his own ass). Don’t konw about any orgy, but they were drunk.
That’s kinda the entire POINT. The king was an ass and Vashti’s actions allowed Ester to gain a place to save all the Jews he was going to kill off.
