[Answering a question about whether teaching children about Heaven and Hell is child abuse]
No, It is Child abuse Not to and your opinions have less value than the fecal matter I flush down the toilet.
I will raise (and have raised) my childrn in any way I see fit, and you or anybody else will stop me, any atempt to do so will result in a revolution.
no go ahead, Try and stop me.

Sure thing. Then the rest of society has to pick up the pieces as your stupid, sub-moronic children try make it through life under-trained and uneducated.
My recommendation? Learn how read and write before giving out suggestions on education.
All I can say is that I remember as a child laying awake at night terrified of going to Hell, and over trivial things like forgetting a homework assignment. Whether or not it's abuse is debatable, but it can certainly be traumatizing to a chile.
@LDM
These people complain about morality, yet they ignore the obvious injustice of the heaven/hell system. A mass murderer like Adolf Hitler could go into heaven because he was a Chri-stain but the pacifistic and heroic Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi would go to hell just for being Hindu? How egotistical can you get for eternally tormenting people just for believing in the wrong god (or none of them)?
*shoots Redeemed etc. in the chest*
Yeah, stopped you. What, you thought only repubs had guns? Ha ha ha.
Internet threats-they never stop being funny!
Your children are miserable little retards, just like you. Good job.
Well, I personally don't see how it could be child abuse any more than saying if you don't eat your greens the bogeyman will get you.
But it's funny how people seem to think that another person's opinion doesn't matter to anyone if they disagree with it.

Internet tough guy UP TO ELEVEN!
@ Goomy pls
pacifistic and heroic Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi would go to hell just for being Hindu?
I know this distracts from the quote, but if anything, Gandhi would go to hell mostly for being a strong racist. Also, I wouldn´t call someone who helped British army in Second Boer War a ´´pacifist´´.
This is one of those tricky things. Heaven and hell aren't intrinsically child abuse and most people probably don't teach their kids that they'll be going to hell. However, some parents DO use threats of hell to keep their children in line and threaten gay children especially. That's when it becomes abuse, in my opinion. However, because we have freedom of religion, especially of preaching religion (also covered under free speech) I'm not sure that anything can be done about it aside from making that sort of thing socially unacceptable.

So you're going to overthrow the whole government just because someone gave you their OPINION of your parenting? Yeah, that's not an overreaction at all [/sarcasm]

I was about to say: Gandhi would more likely go to hell for all the sexual abuse that he committed.

Therefore, beating the living shit out a child is perfectly fine by you... since raising a child how someone sees fit is only their business and no-one better try to stop them...
any atempt to do so will result in a revolution.
Bet it won't...
Fair enough. You can raise them as you see fit. As long as you aren't abusing them. Now teaching them about Heaven and Hell is not child abuse. Just part of religion. But if they grow up to be atheists or another non Christian, well, thems the breaks
Indeed, it does sound like the sort of answer a crude and brutish person would give, in other woods, Redeemed by The Blood of The Lamb appears to be a typical Yahoo. (Note: see Gulliver's Travels.)
Q. "Do you think teaching about heaven and hell is child abuse?"
A. "YOU'RE A POOPY HEAD!!"
That's basically my takeaway from this post.
Both my parents were raised catholic. And neither of them followed a religion as adults. They told me the reason they wanted to raise their children without any religious influences was because what they were taught as kids about heaven, hell, god, etc. scared them shitless and they thought it was horrible to teach kids such things. My great grandparents were protestants so my mom greatly feared that they would go to hell and she also attempted to baptize her dogs and cats because she wanted them to go to heaven, too. Both my parents had to put up with catholic school and nuns that hit them with rulers and that whole entire wonderful experience... My dad is naturally left handed and so of course they tried to beat that out of him.
If raising your kids christian is so fabulous, how come so many reject it as adults? Why so many horror stories? My parents never urged me to be atheist or anything like that, but there was no way I was going to hop on the organized religion train after everything they told me.
Know what, never raised religiously myself, never cared what you tried to tell my three kids after by, say, 11, it varied between the three. After 13 or so they were immune from that brand of bullshit.
But when they were 5 or 8 or 10 I had to introduce them to a harsh reality: Some people are stupid because they were told they MUST believe some stupid shit, there's no reason to accept Jesus over Santa or the Easter Bunny, not ONE fuckin reason at all.
Grow the fuck up people.
@LDM
Just reading websites on that stuff at the age of 18 was grade a Nightmare Fuel. The thought of people experiencing something so horrific would haunt me for hours.
And these assholes say Atheists have hope? LOLOLOLOLOL
