[Regarding the editors of the New York Times]
I prefer a firing squad, but I'm open to a debate on the method of execution. A conviction for treason would be assured under any sensible legal system.

News flash Ann, the New York Times didn't reveal anything that wasn't already publicly available knowledge.
See, part of the way to make sure that we catch terrorists is we chase money trails.

The settlement of international transactions is usually handled through correspondent banking relationships or large-value message and payment systems, such as the SWIFT, Fedwire or CHIPS systems in the United States of America. Such international clearance centres are critical to processing international banking transactions and are rich with payment information. The United States has begun to apply new monitoring techniques to spot and verify suspicious transactions. The Group recommends the adoption of similar mechanisms by other countries.

I applaud the president and our distinguished witness today, Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill, for taking swift action to block terrorist assets that may be located here in the United States and to warn foreign banks that the U.S. is poised to block their assets in this country and deny them access to U.S. markets that refuse to freeze terrorist assets overseas. The secretary is also to be commended for setting up a new foreign terrorist asset tracking center which I hope will become a model for interagency cooperation in law enforcement and in the sharing of financial intelligence.

Ah, so under the Fundie Word Redefinition Project, "treason" means "actually mentioning out loud, or in print, anything that embarrasses the Republican Party or criticizes a Republican President."

Ach, she's just a shock-jock. Eventually people will get bored of her schtick, she'll have to crank up the outrageous stuff even more to try and retain attention, and then she'll lose it. After that her looks will go. *snigger*
Of course, outing of a CIA operative by the administration, is, by no means, anywhere near as bad as reporting government wrongdoing, is it Ann? or is it Andy? I always forget.
For a debatably legal, minor act, Ann would heve the Times editors shot. The Bush administration gets us into a war on false pretenses, and Ann thinks they're gifted leaders. Was she dropped on her head as a baby?
On first read-through, I missed the 'regarding' and thought she was talking about herself. I am crushed to find out this is not in fact the case. Last I heard, someone in Germany had been offering a bounty on her head, anyone know what it's up to now?
Brain_In_A_Jar, there are some things that need to be kept secret, at least in the short term, to protect national security (although the government probably keeps a lot more secrets than it needs to for that reason).
My point in posting these examples is that if people like Ann Coulter are calling for the New York Times to be prosecuted for treason for revealing state secrets, the counter argument that those secrets weren't vital to national security isn't as convicing as the argument (with examples) that the information wasn't even secret to begin with.
miri, methinks you take it much too seriously and read more into it than you should. You do not get on here for being an asshole. Most of us fit that description quite easilly. Personally i get more offended when someone says that they should die than the 'implication' that someone like Ms. Coulter could be a transvestite. Not to mention i have seen a running joke re: Mann Coulter.
On another note? Ann for President??? I thought that they advocated all females in a subservient position. Would that not be against their own religion? Shouldn't she have a man and many babies already by fundy standards?
@Shadows: I don't think the folks here are advocating or truly wishing death or harm to any of the fundie posters, but sometimes they are so hateful, twisted, and anti social that you can't help but feel frustrated at their words and mindset. Angry spiteful folk who think their ideas are supported by almighty god himself are scary. If there were someway to make these racist fuckwits see the error of their 'thinking' that would be great. BUt I grew up among alot of these peckerwood-fundies and sometimes a good beating seems like the only solution since they won't open their eyes or their minds or use their reasoning skills.
When somebody writes that they know what I think because they are so wise in the views of Atheists, or say that they know what I think because I am white or a man or whatever, then spout some hate filled crap, it IS frustrating. When I am calling for the death or serious wounding of a fundie, it's a joke, based on a gut reaction. I don't seriously wish them harm, I just feel sorry for them.......like I felt sorry for 'Old Yeller'.
Dreadful as this is, it's the same kind of thing she's said many times before.
I can't help but think that someday, she'll only be able to get attention by performing an act of mass murder. And she'd willingly do it.
This woman is the ultimately moron. So, there is NO CONNECTION between Sadam Hussein and Al-Qaida, they are killing thousand people WITH NO REASON then, and is she asking for execution when they are using FREE SPEECH?. Go to Saudi Arabia. But please, never dream of writing anything again.
Well, you heard the woman! Call a firing squad.
Now, Ann, dear, if you could just stand against this wall...
Ann Coulter is a trannie, but not the usual kind. She was born in the reptile house at the Bronx Zoo, and her genome was altered to change her species by a group of mad scientists at Brookhaven. The experiment went awry, and she never became fully human. Although she has a mostly human body, she has a reptilian brain, and more importanly, cold blood.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
