I know everybody here wants more from Limbaugh, but give him a break.
If he came out all at once, and said that Detroit's problem is that it is filled will dysfunctional blacks who are incapable of running anything, much less a city, his sponsors would get so much heat that he would be off the air shortly thereafter.
I think Rush does get it. He simply can't say it.
Every thinking white person that has lived near urban areas knows what happens when there is an increase of feral blacks moving into their neighborhood. The neighborhood dies. In the case of Detroit, it was a city-wide phenomenon instead of neighborhood by neighborhood like in most large cities.
Remember, we didn't get where we are with BRA overnight. It happened gradually.
If we have any hope of reversing it. We'll have to take baby steps. At lease Limbaugh and O'Reilly are talking about it.

Yeah, I'm quite prepared to believe Rushbo is a total racist, but is too much of a coward to say what he really thinks. Maybe you should get the gig, Doomie. That ought to pile on the Dem vote a bit.
No. Detroit was not destroyed by black people moving in. Detroit was destroyed by the too conservative business practices of the American automobile industry and lower wages in developing countries. Because of that jobs fell away and those who had money enough to move did so, which was almost exclusively the white middle class ("white flight") who were embraced to run because black people were sick of institutionaliued white racism towards them from public officials and lower wages than a comparable white worker. As the population fled, the tax base for the city broke apart, leaving almost exclusively poor people to tax - who couldn't be taxed, so massive cuts to the public sector had to occure, leading to worse services and therefor to higher rates of crime, corruption and a worsened image. Repeat this cycle 20 times.
In a functioning Western society the federal state would have at this point engaged in massive subsidies and investments into the town - possibly even a special economic zone - but American politics is dysfuntional to the core. So that conservative racist shitheads now blame poor workers (who are mostly black) for problems there campaign financers have caused.
Somethig like this happend in many industrial areas in Western Germany after reunifacation (because of cheaper labor in Eastern Europe), for example Gelsenkirchen (in which it got to expensive to mine). The difference is that after one cycle of closing companies and higher unemployment in the region, our officials did something and aranged subsidies for companies opening there producing new jobs while okey-ing re-use of old industrial parks and building for cultural use - everything ranging from museums to techno clubs.
And this is what pisses me off about these people, they don't do research and try to look how other countries deal with shit like this so they can emulate and adopt, but simply point to a group of people they don't like and blame them.

Americans don't emulate. The average American do not think they have anything to learn from anybody because, you know, "The Greatest Nation On Earth".
The US could learn a lot from other countries, but they have no will nor interest for some strange reason.
Or more probably, it´s that it doesn´t have a propper income source combined with the fact that it doesn´t have enough black or white people, dysfunctional or not. After all, if it were true, bankrupcy would have been filed in Cinncinati or Atlanta first
@Meeeh & UHM
This is a particularly Republican belief. Look up "American Exceptionalism."
It ought to be said, however, that while it's important to study what happens elsewhere, what happens in Place A is no guarantee that it will work in Place B, where dozens of variables are different. The same applies in time as well as space: just because X worked in the past doesn't mean it will work now or in the future.

NO WE DON'T! SHUT UP!
Also, I wonder when Limbaugh's firing is gonna take effect. My dad turns on the car radio & that gasbag's foghorn is STILL polluting the airwaves & messing with the ozone layer!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
