On today’s episode of his “WallBuilders Live” radio program, Republican political activist and Religious Right pseudo-historian David Barton blamed gay people for the high cost of health care.
“The most expensive cost for health care in America per person is not seniors, it’s not those who live to be 100 years old,” he claimed. “The most expensive health care cost in America right now, by far, individually, is for homosexuals. They cost more in the system than any other, hands down.”
“You’ll find that all over insurance stuff, they all admit it,” Barton continued. “I’m not homosexual and I don’t have those health problems. As a matter of fact, I don’t smoke and I don’t drink, so I don’t have those health problems. As a matter of fact, I really exercise a lot, I control my diet, I have very few health problems but I’m having to pay for everybody else’s health problems. If my health insurance reflected my lifestyle, my health insurance would be really, really, really cheap. But when I’m having to pay for everybody’s bad decisions.”

We pay for your bad decisions, dude. Look at the presidency. And yet again, boomers aren't the problem: it's everyone else. I get enough of this on Fark...
As to homosexuality causing health problems: citation needed.
I’m having to pay for everybody else’s health problems.
Yeah, it's not like Jesus would cure people.
I'll never, ever understand this irrational fear conservatives have that someone, somewhere, is going to get something they desperately need for free.
And when you trip over the cat and break a leg and three ribs, or when you insult enough citizens and one of them breaks your jaw with a well-placed punch, the homosexuals and the smokers will pay for your health care. That's called insurance, David, that's how it works.
My best friend has a severe case of osteoporosis. The rheumatologist wants her to take a medication that is horribly expense. Her insurance is willing to pay $1500, leaving her $2000 to pay on her own per month. She can get a co-pay help where she only pays $4, but it's only good for up to $9000. That would only help her for 4 1/2 months. After that, she has to shell out $2000 a month for her co-pay.
Did I mention she's heterosexual.
I'd love to know; Why does he call his outfit "Wallbuilders" when he's busy trying to tear down a metaphorical wall? Shouldn't an organization dedicated to destroying the Religion/State Wall be called...."Wallsmashers"?
Either the "Wall" refers to something else or this is some weird doublespeak thingy like, "The Democratic People's Republic of Korea" (A Stalinist quasi-religious cult-monarchy-dictatorship on Steroids), "The People's Republic of China" (A quasi-Communist Plutocratic authoritarian society) or the numerous Far-Right organizations with "Freedom" in their name (Theocracy is not freedom!).
What were you saying again? Oh yes, BULLSHIT. It doesn't fucking work that way. Or are you gonna tell the parents of a three year old cancer patient that somehow, their child's cancer is because the kid's not exercising enough?
What health problems do homosexuals have, that neither heterosexuals nor bisexuals nor asexuals have?
That's how insurance works, yes; you pay a little into it, in the hopes that you'll never going to need it. SOMEONE is going to need it, and for that person, there is money in the insurance to pay for what he or she needs.
I don't know how the health insurance payment works (not being an American), but it ought to be somewhat depending on the risks you're taking. But not wholly; being pregnant and having a child is one of the most dangerous things you can do to your body, and if Mr. Barton here should be listened to, the system ought to discourage people from having kids, rather than discouraging people from being born gay.
With car insurance, men often pay more than women, as men tend to take greater risks and often think they drive better than they actually do (#notallmen). When we moved to a house and got our very own parking space next to the house, our premium went down, as there was now significantly less risk of our car being damaged by nearby cars.

I'll look these dorks up on the RationalWiki and perhaps I'll find an answer.
Hold on *opens RationalWiki in a separate tab*....
....*then returns*....
I entered the belly of the beast. I went to the Wallbuilders site itself and found the answer. Here's the quote I Copy/Pasted from that site....
In the Old Testament book of Nehemiah, the nation of Israel rallied together in a grassroots movement to help rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and thus restore stability, safety, and a promising future to that great city. We have chosen this historical concept of “rebuilding the walls” to represent allegorically the call for citizen involvement in rebuilding our nation’s foundations. As Psalm 11:3 reminds us, “If the foundations be destroyed, what shall the righteous do?”
....So it's less about a "wall" and more about a non-existent "Christian Foundation".
....IMHO; It's a "House built on sand" as Jesus put it.
"If my health insurance reflected my lifestyle, my health insurance would be really, really, really cheap. But when I’m having to pay for everybody’s bad decisions."
Because that's the price you pay this live in a society?
Confused?
