I wonder how many Southern Baptists and members of the NAE know their tithes and offerings are being used to support and build a mosque? This, IMO, is an outrage and slap in the face of Almighty God - so-called Christians actually helping the enemies of Jesus Christ! There's also an article about this posted on RaptureReady.com front page titled Come Out From Among Them if you want to read a further commentary on it.

@Muchacho1994: The usual response to that tends to be: "But who, then, is my neighbor?" People like these are always looking for a reason to not have to care about other people, and the fundamentalists are only too happy to give it to them

You cannot even be a Muslim if you don't respect Jesus. That is literally the first question they ask you when you 'revert' to Islam. Nothing to do with Allah or Mohammed. Fucking. Jesus. If you say you can't accept him as God's prophet, that ends the session right there.
They aren't your enemies, they're you in a different hat.

Expanding the definition of neighbour to include people seen as potential enemies is an act of charitable faith.
Muslims are not enemies of Jesus; he's present in their mythology too. Jews are the enemies of Jesus; they see him as a fraud. Funnily enough, fundies still spout the idiocy of "Judeo-Christian Values", when it ought to be Islam-Christian Values".
So there are a number of southern Baptists who actually tried to live by the good parts of the Bible, where you love thy neighbour regardless of any ill sentiment.
Does being surprised by that make me a bigotted dick?

Wait... Southern Baptists? The denomination founded by the KKK? The people who only just recently began allowing non-whites to join their congregations?
You know what? If some of them are willing to open their hearts to non-SBs, more power to 'em. Maybe there's hope for them yet.
