This is why it’s so important to refuse to legitimize the language the left uses to sanitize their poisonous social agendas. Don’t use the word “gay”, for example, and don’t speak of “same-sex marriage”. When you do this you are buying into the leftist frame by utilizing their sanitized language. Instead, use language that is either objective or reactionary/right wing in nature, in order to combat their frame.
This is why I always use the word homosexual in place of “gay” or “same-sex”. When I speak of “transgendered” individuals I always use the person’s biological sex pronouns and pair the transgender label with “mentally ill”, “freak” or “sex pervert”.
Controlling language is controlling thought. By using the language of the left, you are unknowingly allowing them to control the debate, since everything is being talked about in their terms, which immediately makes them seem legitimate even if they are completely insane (i.e. referring to a man with female pronouns, or calling shameless homosexual perverts “gay” to soften their image and make them seem harmless).

This is why it’s so important to refuse to legitimize the language the left uses to humanize the people that we on the right want to demonize.
Don’t use the word “gay”, for example, and don’t speak of “same-sex marriage”. When you do this you are buying into the leftist frame by utilizing their humanizing language. Instead, use language that is either dismissive or reactionary/right wing in nature, in order to combat their frame.

Ivrum, I disagree. Lete him speak his bile all he wants. It just showcases how idiotic these twunts really are.
Scorpion, I will do you the same courtesy and use non PC terms in referring to you and your ilk: homophobic bigot, troglodyte (my apologies to any actual troglodytes out there), pedophile, loony, funditard, ad nauseum.
Glad we could come to an agreement.
"Controlling language is controlling thought. "
Then how come I'm always able to see past ridiculous right-wing spin-words, and how come you can perceive what you consider "left-wing" spin-words? Language can certainly frame a debate, but unfortunately for you, that doesn't suspend critical thinking. Linguistics fail.
You keep using that kind of inflammatory, dehumanizing language, though. It makes a useful warning sign for rational-minded people about just how willfully ignorant and irrational you are.
So you would, I'm sure, have no objection to the rest of us calling a spade a spade, and calling a vocally anti-gay-marriage person a bigot and a homophobe and a downright nasty person?
You do know that the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis and linguistic determinism are not hard-coded laws of reality, right?
Wait... you've likely never heard of either.
Forcing people into line with your philosophy is controlling thought, Scorp. Linguistic drift is not. If you want to be a bigot, hey, free country (and even in not so free ones, you get a pass), but be prepared when people start returning fire when your dickishness finally gets under their skin.
Controlling, because that`s what it is about in the end for your lot. Always control and who has it, who`s to lose it and to never ever let others live free as they want. Pathetic little mentaly ill wretches obssesed with sadisticaly fulfilling some twisted version of what they call "order", gleefuly stomping over peoples lives to achieve it.
No, the above is not mine rather disgusted description of the denizens of D&Ds hells, it would however be an accurate assesment of our OP.
You need to establish that the language you are using makes sense first. For example, since transgenderism is not a mental illness or "perversion," do not couple the terms unless the transgender individual happens to also have, say, body dysmorphic disorder or is a sex offender or something.
I'm always puzzled by the term 'sex pervert'.
Are there other kinds of perverts we should be concerning ourselves with? Food perverts? People that eat strange and unnatural things? Clothing perverts? What other perverts are out there?
"Controlling language is controlling thought."
Maybe for you, you mindless jackass.
Being rabidly homophobic is a mental disorder. It's all wrapped up in delusions of immortality through bloodline, control issues, and other endearing ego maniacal beliefs.
You can use defamatory language all you want, as long as we can call you a shit-spewing anal sphincter in return.
Sure, use the language of bigots and homophobes; that makes it easier to suss you out, and laugh at you reactionary scaredycats.
To you, everything to the left of Ann Coulter is leftist, right?
Homosexuals are much more harmless than homophobes, asshole.
Instead, use language that is either objective or reactionary/right wing in nature, in order to combat their frame.
You aren't gonna make being a reactionary look good that way. I don't like sanitised language myself (because a lot of it sounds snidely insulting more than just the older descriptive terms), but seriously.
This is why I always use the word homosexual in place of “gay” or “same-sex”. When I speak of “transgendered” individuals I always use the person’s biological sex pronouns and pair the transgender label with “mentally ill”, “freak” or “sex pervert”.
If we're gonna go all offensive for trans individuals, why not do the same for gays? Like the time-tested "faggot", "queer", etc.? So inconsistent.
Controlling language is controlling thought
Language control has proven to be a lot less strong than is popularly imagined.

No. Catch fire WHILE drinking Drain-O!
@ dethtoll
A pretty stupid way to dehumanize, too. "Hey, Cletus! Let's dehumanize people by calling them an accurate technical term that describes what they are rather than some silly thing like 'Sodomite' or something!"
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
