Witchcraft is the ancient practice of ritual and the use of herbs and spices for medicinal outcomes. Witchcraft is an expansion of ancient Pagan societies use of the natural (or believed so) elements of fire, water, earth, air, metal or wood (depending on the culture). Witchcraft is not done to summon demons, curse people, make someone suffer or anything like that. Witchcraft, magick, ritual and sabbats were used for:
* Declaring appropriate times of war
* Curing or fighting disease
* Vision quests and personal revelations
* Opening the mind to new experiences
* Occasionally just celebration
* Keeping away evil and harmful power
* Inviting and procuring positive luck
* Uniting the "spirit" with the world
* Opening the way for the ancestors
* Uniting the Upper, middle and Underworld
* Declaring allegiance to a specific deity
[And hundreds more things, none of which included harming someone without justifiable intent. Even voodoo is not to be used for the intent of intentionally harming one who is undeserving. Those who practice Voodoo also worship a single God, if you didn't know.]
So, your mass panic of demons and witches summoning evil spirits to harm you and kill you has definitely been fueled by the Catholic Church during the medieval ages. Please, grow up and read some real books on these practices that pre-date your phony Jesus and were even, often times, adopted by your early Christian brethren.

Witches do not put hexes or curses on you
Witches do not mess with menstrual cycles
Most medieval witch Grimoires are actually on how to procure love, wealth and glory while making evil minions of Satan submit to your authority IN GOD AND JESUS' NAME you unfounded, ignorant and pompous woman.
