At the root of the Liberal Syndrome is a mental and moral disorder. Liberals are miserable, bitter, malcontent people with a perennial chip on their shoulder. They are arrogant and narcissistic, with a self-serving relativist morality. That is why they resent religions that have a moral code, especially Christianity that believes human beings are a fallen creation who are redeemed only through the self-sacrifice of a loving but moral God.

At the root of the Conservative Syndrome is a mental and moral disorder. Conservatives are miserable, bitter, malcontent people with a perennial chip on their shoulder. They are arrogant and narcissistic, with a self-serving relativist morality. They deeply resent the idea that the non-religious can have any moral code. Especially the Christian fundies, who believe human beings are a fallen creation who are redeemed only through kissing the ass of a God who had to sacrifice his Son (or was it his Clone?) to Himself before he could do any changing of the rules He Himself made.
And, in contrast to liberal thinking, fundie conservatives have conspiracy theories about the government, the Muslims, the Jews, the Nigras and the "illegals" are going to make them marry goats, give them cooties, take away their guns and learn about science. What happy, well-adjusted people they are.
@ whatever
All of those absolutes get put on hold when something is being done "in the name of God" or to someone they hate. Then those morals must absolutely be turned on their heads and become an obligation to be utter bastards. The only moral absolute for them is that "God" benefit in some way with God being read as their personal interests.
What relatives are even being referred to here? When it comes to things like the abortion debate false equivalancies are used to compare abortion to being fine with murdering babies (incidentally clinic bombers are perfectly content with killing people of all ages) and the main moral quandry is a result of misrepresentation of the facts and issues or the obfuscation of a single lynchpin of the issue they cannot grasp. In this case the development of sentience.
Well I consider myself fairly liberal so let's see here.
Miserable: No I'm pretty good thanks.
Bitter: Again, I-I'm good thanks.
Malcontent: You don't get to say the same thing three times in a row in slightly different ways and call yourself verbose.
With a perennial chip on their shoulder:... Four times then.
arrogant and narcissistic: No more than the next person really and certainly less than you because I don't go around telling people what they think
self-serving relativist morality: I believe there is no good and evil but that there is a right and wrong if that's what you mean.
That is why they resent religions: That is not why I resent religions, I resent religions 'cos of chuckleheads like you.
only through the self-sacrifice of a loving but moral God.
You know, if there was truly a self-sacrifice of the loving god, Jesus would have stayed dead.
As for the rest of the post, what Fellowship of the Minds describes I find it more common among Conservatives than I do liberals.
Huh. And there was I thinking that it was conservatives who were unhappy all the time due to the existence of brown people, women, other countries, gays, healthcare for the poor and needy, oil that belongs to someone else and religious tolerance.
I resent anything that says that we are inherently flawed beings, because looking around at your daily life will show you that most people aren't inherently flawed, rather, most people are inherently good. That doesn't sound miserable to think that. Isn't misery saying you and every other person is flawed?
Aww shit, I'm a socialist, I guess I don't count as a liberal...never mind, anyone to the left of Fox News is liberal in Wingnut Land.
"They are arrogant and narcissistic, with a self-serving relativist morality."
Sounds like the God you worship.
And yet, behind 4 out of 5 axes being ground, you find a conservative.
Fundie morals are relative to the alleged "will of God," which changes according to the circumstances and the motives of the raving preacher in the front of the room. Anything can be rationalized with the proper cherry-picking. That's the way the manual is written.
"especially Christianity that believes human beings are a fallen creation who are redeemed only through the self-sacrifice of a loving but moral God."
That is probably the worst thing about Christianity. Force feeding the notion to children that they are damaged goods. Considering that most kids, up to now, have been fed that line, it's pretty amazing that most grow up to be decent people.
Imagine how much better the world will be when kids aren't subjected to that vile propaganda.
I'm sure glad I have people like you to tell me I'm miserable and bitter, I never would have guessed that myself. Sure, maybe I'm a little narcissistic, but who isn't these days? Guess I'm just too busy focusing on the things that make me happy in life to have noticed what a miserable malcontent I really am. Thanks for pointing that out to me. :p
Shiny mirror is shiny, dearie.
What moral code in Christianity, btw?
To get your dad drunk and rape him after your mother has been killed by god?
To slay all the Amalekites; men, women, children, babies, cattle and sheep?
To keep virgin girls and women as spoils of war, as sex slaves?
To dash babies against rocks?
To force your raped daughter to marry her rapists, as you no longer have any use for that damage property?
Yup, loving and moral God, indeed!
Yeah. Look, you like weekends, paid vacations and paid holidays? Pensions? No child labor? Health and safety on the job? Social safety net?
Liberals did those things.
Confused?
