if it's giving birth to the child and the mother is at risk of death, i honestly do believe the child means more than the mother.the mother has already lived quite a bit of her life if she's had sex at a proper age to end up with the fetus in the first place. whereas, the fetus / child hasn't even had the chance to begin their life.
besides, there are plenty of women who have been told they will not live through the birth, but have. you can't always rely on what the doctor says.
my grandmother was told it was not wise to give birth to her child, but she did so anyway. then came my mother. now here i am.
also, you would not be 'forcing' her to become an abusive parent. she herself decides her actions and if she decides to hit her child, that was not forced by someone that was her own doing no matter her condition.
furthermore, killing off children simply because the parents aren't seen fit to take care of them is just wrong if you ask me. if someone is truly unfit to take care of a child, then don't take care of it. give it up. there are plenty of people that are barren or are just not wanting a child of their own and would like to help another's. also, you can't really make the argument that people are telling mothers to put their child up for adoption when nobody is adopting and that they're all talk. over around 40,000 children / people are adopted internationally every year. people are indeed adopting.

might i add, by the way, that every time i argue against someone on the matter of whether or not a fetus is indeed a life, the person always changes the subject to something else having to do with abortion. i find that is because they realise they are very much in the wrong to have said that the fetus is not a life and that it shouldn't matter if we end that life in cold blooded murder.
