I've come down to the conclusion that wingnuts are strictly playing for Team Hobbes....and I don't meat the tiger.
They have a very massive disrespect for humanity and refuse to believe that human nature can change for the better. The idea of humanity getting along, being free, being peaceful, sharing, cooperating, etc. is alien to them.
Compound that with the fact that they interpret the Bible's "Humanity Has Original Sin/Sin Nature" as "Humanity is evil scum!" rather than "Humanity is flawed" and they see a big justification in having an Authoritarianism-boner, restricting everyone, waging war, etc.
Religious Frummerism is not about Faith or Spirituality. It's not about seeking the Divine and enriching the soul. It's merely a selfish domination scheme. A means to have wealth, power, sadism, rape, misogyny, homophobia, warfare, discord, etc. with impunity!
It's an excuse and a cover for being an evil jerk.
The corrupt Powers-That-Be sow discord on purpose! There's money, power and influence to be made with it! Same with bigotry! If everyone got along and ethnicism* wasn't a thing, the people could unite and take down "The Man"!
We must destroy The Demiurge and drive it from our religions! We must try our best to reach out to others, even those of opposing ideologies. We must show compassion and patience. True; One can never find common ground with hardliners. However; Many average citizen wingnuts can still be otherwise decent, hardworking, normal, good people.
Surely; Most of us have SOMETHING in common.
And we shouldn't just lecture. We need to SHOW it!
There's a saying, concerning the Christian faith, that goes "Preach Christianity at all times....and when necessary, use words". The point is is to LIVE IT and let that teach people. Apply that to stuff other than Christianity. LIVE KINDNESS, LOVE AND PROGRESSIVISM. Speak out against injustice with tact rather than be a maniac. Try to appeal to the "Average Schmo/Midwest Farmer/Homemaker/Blue Collar/Working Class" set.
Much of the problem is that folks equate Progressivism and Left-Wing stuff with Hippies, Hipsters, Urbanites, Snooty Elites, Weirdos, Oddballs, People they find "out of touch".
We need more "John Mellancamp/Bruce Springsteen" faces to Progressivism.
Perhaps, we should look at the average "Tea Party Protester" not with hate and laughs, but pity and concern. Many are still regular people hurt by the System. However the System deflects the blame by manipulating them into blaming that Black/Muslim/Feminist/Gay/etc. person.

We should expand the meaning of 'ethnic/ethnicity' instead! There's only one Race....THE HUMAN RACE! Speaking of 'Races' makes everyone sound like different species and that only adds to the bigotry!]
