Wayne Welsh #racist rawstory.com

A police officer from Estherwood, Louisiana has been fired from his job after he posted a racist meme on his Facebook page depicting a mother drowning her daughter for dating a black child.

Local news station KADN reports that Wayne Welsh, the assistant chief at the Estherwood Police Department, posted a meme this past Saturday that depicted a woman drowning a young girl in a bathtub with the caption, “When your daughter’s first crush is a little negro boy.”

Welsh quickly realized that the meme was inappropriate and deleted it, but by that point it had already been seen by someone in the community, who reported it to the department.

Estherwood Police Chief Ernest Villejoin said he was shocked when he saw what Welsh had posted, and he immediately took action to dismiss him.

“When I found out about it, I couldn’t believe I had to call him,” Villejoin said. “I called him at work and asked him what the hell is going on.”

Villejoin suspended the officer, who subsequently resigned his post. Despite the racist content of the meme, however, Villejoin said that Welsh was not a racist person.

“I know Wayne didn’t do this on purpose,” he said. “He didn’t do this offend anybody. I apologize to anybody that it offended, believe me.”
