its more complex than that. many teachers are aware of bullying and allow it to happen because it helps them keep the class predictable and easily controllable. others are just too lazy to stop it, it takes a lot of time and energy to stop these situations since they need constant watch.

in some cases teachers might even encourage bullying by communicating with subtle signals that it's ok to make fun of a specific student, again it's a management/control tool.

....before you screenshot me, sigma, keep in mind that this isn't some insane fringe conspiracy, it's very common in some places. for example in some countries like corea it's customary to "tip" highschool teachers. if a family doesn't tip, the teacher will encourage the rest of the class to bully their kid, until their parents pay up. in fact a lot of coreans dont see this as a "tip" but rather a form of extortion, since bullying in corea is extremely violent, with savage beatings that usually result in fractures, and it's not unusual for the victims to commit suicide. the school then covers it up by saying the student was "stressed" by uni entrance exams or some shit.

@R706

I know a lot of you are probably in your twenties and you're gonna have to steel yourself for your thirties, because if you think noone gives a fuck about you in your twenties, NOONE gives a fuck about you in your thirties, you're just another asshole.

Older women who tried to mother you in your twenties just see you as that weird fucking man.

Older guys who would give you advice and encouragement in your twenties just see you as a loser.

Younger people don't want to hang out with you and people the same age as you are married with kids.

Noone gives a fuck if you do anything well or badly, literally almost nothing you do matters anymore.

The truth is you're reaching the age where it's meant to be you that's giving out the encouragement and advice to people younger than you, but a lifetime of solitude and neglect has left you woefully unprepared and unwilling.

@raspectwahmen

The worst thing a parent can do is to tell their sons to be quiet or to be 'well-behaved'. Sure, don't have the little fuckers run about and be pests, but don't punish them for being adventurous, and definitely don't encourage beta behavior.
