Holy Mother Church rejoices!

Funny, isn't it: The Church has remained strong and steadfast for 2,000 years in Jesus' word: defending life at all stages--no abortion, no euthanasia, no stem cell cloning, defending traditional marriage, and strengthening the family.

And yet some poor souls see the Papacy as some sort of springboard for a new utopia for "democracy" or "women priests" or "gay rights," or "social justice," or,...just fill in the blank for the cause-du-jour. This is silly. It's stuff and nonsense. Typical human grasping for power, arrogance, and greed.

The Church, formed by Jesus himself, (hello, there--Jesus was a MAN, not a woman; there goes the idea of women priests right out the window,sorry) will always be here. Jesus told us so (and HE never lies; HE can never deceive nor be deceived.) And the gates of hell and death shall never prevail over it. A lowly and sinful fisherman, Peter, was appointed by our Lord as the first leader of the Apostles. Pope Francis continues this unbroken line.

Get this straight folks: The Church has NEVER changed; only society and its mores and customs have (all for the worse.) Secularism and the tyranny of relativism has infected the human soul. Look around you for the results; need I say more?

The Magisterium, the Holy Bible and Tradition are the pillars of the Church.

We see the Holy Spirit at work here strengthening us in our pilgrimage on earth as we grow in God's love under the leadership of our beloved shepherd, Francis.

VIVA FRANCIS!

No war, no capital punishment, no crusades, no inquisitions.
Traditional Biblical marriage, like between a man and several women, a man and a woman and her maid, a man and his brother's widow, a man and a child, a rapist and his victim? Isn't traditional marriage FUN?
A family formed of a rapist, his victim and the rape baby must indeed be a strong and loving unit!

Hello there--Jesus was a JEW, not a Caucasian. Didn't he have women friends who were preachers? Hasn't there even been a female pope at one short time? There are at least stories about it throughout history.

The Church has changed, MANY times. One of the earliest changes, I believe, was the split between Catholics and Orthodox, who both think they alone were the original Church of Christ. Another change was to translate the original texts from Hebrew to Greek and Latin, and fairly recent change was to no longer read the sermons in "traditional" Latin, so that illiterate laymen could understand what they heard.

Let's look around us for the result of secularism, shall we? Northern Ireland, in the stronghold of religion; lot's and lot's of un-infected human souls. Sweden, one of the most secular countries in the world, is shock-a-block full of infected human souls. Which is the more peaceful and prosperous one?

Ah yes. Let's add the crusades, the inquisitions and the witch burnings to the list as well while we're at it.

Fools they are, the pope should be all about fascism, patriarchal misogyny, minority persecution and social injustice.

Wow, you are really ignorant. I am not a Catholic and never was and even I can give you this list of changes from the top of my head:

- masses not longer hold in Latin
- some books and testaments thrown out of the bible
- seat of the pope changed from Rome to Avignon and back
- popes no longer crown kings and emperors
- the inquisition does no longer hold court, torture people or arrange autodafés

This was the work of five minutes, if I would invest more time, I am sure the list would grow quite a bit more

Well, when I compare today’s society (at least Western society, but I am optimistic that the rest of the world will eventually follow) with the times when the Catholic church still had more power, I must say I am very glad that I live now and not then

Jesus never said that women can't be priests. That was spurious Pauline epistles that said that.

Oh, the NT also mentions women deacons & women as Apostles & ministers in the church (the legit Pauline epistles & the book of Acts say this). Oh, don't forget who saw the resurrected Jesus first, MARY MAGDALENE!

Religion & Government should stay separate....even Jesus said so with the whole "Render under Caesar/God" proclamation.

Women are equal to Men. Adam ate the fruit, too. Your version of God is a lie. The Gnostics had the right idea about Bible God. Jesus preached the True God, the rest is of an impostor version of God called The Demiurge. Jesus simply wanted to reform the Jewish faith & cleanse it of the Demiurgic crap. I doubt J.C. was speaking of the Law of Moses when he said that bit about "not abolishing the Law".

The Law (according to Jesus) = A basic understanding of the Decalogue OR simply (paraphrased) "Love The Divine with all your heart soul, strength & mind and love your neighbor as yourself".

For those who don't believe in a Deity, one may substitute higher ideals like Love, Peace, etc. Whatever higher ideal is "Deity" to you.

Well, that's how I see it...as a Liberal, Esoteric Spirituality-type person.

Yeah. That little matter some years ago about Limbo. Before then, part of the RCC's granite-solid, unchanging doctrine. Question: what made them admit that 'Limbo' was just a theological concept? I mean, if that can suddenly be dismissed out of hand, then what does that say about the rest of it's dogma - which is still in the Dark Ages?

Actually, the RCC was formed by it's first Pope, Peter; one of the 12 Apostles. Who was married. So I guess even he was one up on your Jesus then.

So why isn't Pope Bogholio using his power - as well as the Vatican Bank's grasping for power, arrogance & greed - to allow contraception & abortion, scrap celibacy in the priesthood (and beyond), allow female clergy, welcome with open arms LGBT people into it's congregations, and (said Bank to) obey to the letter Matthew 19:21?

Funny, indeed. The Church has remained strong and steadfast for 2,000 years after Jesus lied about coming back within the lifetimes of some in his audience.

For most of that time there was no technology for safe abortions,or stem cell anything. The church did strengthen the family if your criteria is to keep women from leaving abusive marriages, and to look the other way at child abuse by clergy.

And while they may have railed against non-traditional marriage and euthanasia, I don't think either of those positions is laudable.

Yeah, you mean at all stages f development. Once the fetus is born, the church is pretty good about leaving them to the wolves.

Granted, I will give the Catholic church credit where it's due. They are dragged kicking and screaming, scratching and biting, into progress. But in the end, they get there. But to say Catholic dogma is immutible and unchanging is ignorant at best, and delusional at worst.
