It was following Luther that brought people AWAY from Catholicism, and gave birth to Protestantism, numbskull.
The Pope is God's representative on Earth, according to Catholics. To Protestants, he's usually a doddering old fool in funny hats and expensive embroidered robes. Until “PF” that is, who relinquished the embroidery and the hats, wearing mostly simple white robes, and sounding remarkably Christ-like. (He's still definitely a conservative, though.)
Sedevacantist, like this commentator, are such a joke. They really miss the time when the Catholic Church allowed (de facto) racism, elitism and all sorts of discrimination (especially Antisemitism).

Luther founded Protestantism. How could he deform it? Maybe Calvin or Zwingli or Henry VIII or the Baptists or the Presbyterians deformed it, but claiming Luther deformed Protestantism is like saying Einstein deformed the theory of relativity. Or perhaps you're a RC and meant that Protestantism is a deformation and just don't like Francis.

The term you're looking for is Sedevacantist. Literally "the seat is empty". There are, quite a few of them actually. Most claim every pope since Vatican II is a heretic.
