There's even more reason to end a pregnancy with an already dead fetus. That fetus, because it is no longer carrying out life processes, is also unable to stop the already existing flesh eating bacteria in its body.
Yes, that's right . . . flesh eating bacteria, in all of us, from before we're born. This is why our bodies decay. Normally our immune systems put a stop to their spread, but when your immune system no longer functions at all, they eat, they grow, they reproduce, they eat more. A dead fetus will begin to decay because of those bacteria running amok. Leave a dead fetus inside, and the mass of flesh eating bacteria will be too great in numbers for the mother's immune system to combat, and it will start eating her.
Yes, if your fetus is dead inside you for the next 16+ weeks, you will probably die as well. You will almost certainly never have a chance to bear another child, even if your life is saved. So yeah, being that late term "abortions" are just removing an already miscarried child, it's not something that should have "Christians" up in arms.
By the way, abortions is in quotation marks because when this happens, it's medically labelled D&C, for Dilate and Curettage. The purpose is to break apart and remove the fetus before health problems are caused for the mother. And even if the miscarriage results in the expulsion of the fetus, most doctors want to do a D&C anyway, just to make sure any possible problems are eliminated before they happen, such as the placenta remaining inside and deteriorating.
