EDIT: I went to the Translator thingy on Google and got “Parva Digitabulum” (‘Little Glove’). Doesn’t quite have the same “feel” as “Caligula” (then again, the translator used Modern Latin and not the stuff Ancient Romans used. Modern Latin uses ‘parva’ for ‘little’ so ‘Little Something’ is bound to be two words. ‘Little Boot’ in today’s Latin is ‘Parva Booz’ which doesn’t sound ANYTHING like ‘Caligula’!).

Actually, Caligula is derived from the diminutive form of the term “Caligae”, which were a type of soldier’s boot at the time. “https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caligae” I believe Caligula’s nickname started because he wore small version of those when he was younger.

Yes, his dad was a general and when he was on the Germanic front as a small child the soldiers gave him this nickname, since he was outfitted with miniature versions of their own boots. (He hated being called this, BTW.) Caligula’s actual name was Gaius Julius Caesar, a common name in his family.
Whatever one thinks of Trump’s common sense and way of going about doing things, I’d have to say that appointing a religious fanatic who addresses his own wife as ‘Mother’ for Vice President was a savvy move. The only way impeachment will work now will be if Trump is deposed just before the 2020 election. If the election takes place while impeachment proceedings are still running, Trump will likely win having given an image of a beleaguered hero fighting on two fronts, and then use his post-election gains to consolidate his position and sabotage said impeachment proceedings. If Trump is impeached a few months before the election, then Pence (who is rather more competent than Trump) will still have a few months to impose terrible damage upon the country.

Ah, but isn't the lesson that pleasing appearances hide danger important to learn? His supporters enjoy the shallow facade of toughness and loud colourful shows, they drink his poison and it tastes sweet on the tongue, but sure enough that racing feeling in their heart will lead to death.
The sad thing is is that I might start to believe that he believes it. I heard of my psychiatrist one time that there exist mental disorders in which the person is so completely lacking in self-awareness that they will state: "I'M NOT ANGRY!!!".
Then again I remember a communist blogger who said that Obama was worse than Trump. That's because every US president has committed grave crimes against humanity and that at least with Trump you can give the argument that he doesn't know what he's doing. Unlike Obama who knew quite well what he was doing.
