Certainly I'm reading it right. In fact, there is no other way to go in which direction makes sense. There are so many ways but they all contradict each other. We need one standard, which is mine. And since maps are made to plot true courses, and mine is true, it's a necessary precondition for there even being a map here in the first place. How can you explain that there are such things as maps if going West through California and crossing the ocean isn't the way to Chicago?

Profoundly retarded. There is no reason to assume that we are experiencing top-down consciousness, being fed into our brains by a Space Dictator. Why should believe this over simple a ground-level, subjective experience of consciousness? And know that, though not absolute, is consistent enough for our purposes? Your argument relies on presupposing the existence of God, and, as such, is irrefutable in its circularity.

Oh Please. When is the last time you talked to God and he actually talked back? I would love to hear about the personal "revelation" you claimed he gave you. Also, since when is the ONLY way to know something is by being told by someone else. You have a brain and body which uses sensory perception. You dont need someone else to tell you if what your body is feeling is real.

If you doubt this, please tell us how it is possible for you to know anything according to your worldview.

Sensory perception to some degree. Also, expermimentation through trial and error and dont forget "logic and reason"

I think this explains 60% of what is wrong with fundie-ism.

Hey, Sye, what's wrong with a little independent research? Look; it's easy:

* 1. Observe some aspect of the universe.
* 2. Invent a tentative description, called a hypothesis, that is consistent with what you have observed.
* 3. Use the hypothesis to make predictions.
* 4. Test those predictions by experiments or further observations and modify the hypothesis in the light of your results.
* 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until there are no discrepancies between theory and experiment and/or observation.

When consistency is obtained the hypothesis becomes a theory and provides a coherent set of propositions which explain a class of phenomena. A theory is then a framework within which observations are explained and predictions are made.

Is that absolutely true??? That’s the problem, you talk in absolutes but don’t even realize it. The only way one can know anything is by or through revelation by someone (God) who knows everything, and this is exactly what we claim. Sure, you can disagree with that claim, but any knowledge claim you make in doing so, will be inconsistent with your worldview. If you doubt this, please tell us how it is possible for you to know anything according to your worldview.
No, actually we talk a lot more in relatives. With you, it's do this, and you're evil. Do that, and you're good. Do that other thing and you're evil. You allow no room for grey. Yes or no. Black or white. One or Zero. No degrees. No shades. Just one absolute or another.
