If Trump was anyone's apprentice, and you could actually get him to listen to reason, then he wouldn't have massive debts and frequent bankruptcies.

This would only make sense if Soros (or anyone) took on a lot of "apprentices" and taught them to screw themselves over in exactly the right ways in hopes that someday one of them would be in the position to be a very useful puppet. That doesn't sound like a very good investment.
