[RE. the Arizona bill that would allow businesses to refuse service to LGBT people.]

I wonder how many of these people who believe that the government should force people to work for homosexuals realize that they are supporting slavery? After all, they are supporting involuntary servitude.

Just like when the Feds "forced" those engaged in interstate commerce to provide goods and services to African Americans, or when the Feds insisted stores could only sell goods that meet certain health and safety standards.

Why, it's almost like slavery!

John_in_Oz

As part of your involuntary servitude, you can kiss my gay arse.

Paler_Face

noone is forcing you to work for anyone. If you don't like your job, quit and get a job elsewhere.

3/4/2014 4:23:36 AM

Goomy pls

By that logic a person getting less than the minimum wage who needs the job is also under "involuntary servitude."

Where's your "logic" now?

Mister Spak

I wonder how many of these people who support this law realise they are supporting slavery? After all, this 'I can refuse you service' legal doctrine originated among people who hated niggers.

Just get used to it Corbett, you are gonna have to bend over for teh gay.

Wait... what?

Yes, and if you clinch up, it's really going to hurt.

The government is also forcing people to work for Christians. Not being able to discriminate against others is not to be discriminated against.

If you don't want to make wedding cakes for gay marriages, then don't make wedding cakes at all.

Doubting Thomas

You don't have to work for a gay person if you don't want. But before you talk too loudly about it being slavery, that law is very much like the old Jim Crow laws which allowed businesses to refuse service to black people. That's right, you're on the wrong side of history.

Nobody is being forced to work for any employer. If you don't like the fact that your boss is gay, you could always quit. It would a stupid reason to quit, but you could do it.

The legislation is pure evil. Shame on the Republicans they are for limited government, then force the rest of us to violate our conscience to serve homosexuals and be involved in their lifestyle. For me as a Christian, participating in a gay wedding would be a sin. They have the right to conduct that wedding and be part of it, but no one should have the right to mandate I need to support it and participate in it. Next they will probably pass a bill that says if a gay person tells you he wants to do you, you have to drop your pants and spread it out right there, or you're violating his 'rights.'

The Sixth Amendment of the Constitution says that the accused must have access to counsel; so is the legal profession enslaved?

Go on, tell everyone about how you're a slave. I'm sure those with slavery in their family history will be super supportive of you. That fist flying in your face? Support.

It's not involuntary. If they don't want to serve their customers, they don't have to run a business.

Not the same thing.

You wish.

When will people like Corbett realise that there are a lot of gay people out there. And they all have families and friends who support them. And all the families and friends have their own extended families and friends, and the network gets very wide. And when word begins to spread that Corbett doesn't want provide goods and services to gay people, lots of other people who are not anti-gay will hear. And they will all begin to boycott Corbett. And soon, Corbett will be out of business. And it will all be his own undoing. And he will deserve what he gets.

Boo-hoo. Poor Corbett, as the bank forecloses.

What?? First they were forcing all the straight, decent, Christian folk to get gay married to queers and now there's straight slavery??? When will it end!?

@ His4Life: You got it right! You better go full goatse for the next gay dude that wants to see your bottom or you will be charged with a hate crime! And did you know that black people are also making white people slaves by demanding they be able to marry whomever they choose without being denied service by people who work in the wedding industry?? And it doesn't stop with the blacks, no. A GOD fearing Christian can't stand firm against wetbacks/japs/chinks/brown people etc. marrying outside their races without creating a big ol' hullabaloo! But it's in the BIBLE! What is a BIBLE believing Christian to do??? Adapt with the times and accept that religious texts can be used to both support and oppose prejudices? As if!

John

It's not involuntary. They have a choice: serve everyone or serve no one.

Hey Corbett, I heard Uganda is a great place to work if you don't want to work for the homosexuals.

So, being compelled to go to school, or serve in the military, or pay child-support are all forms of slavery?

I wonder if Corbett realizes that this same stupid argument was rejected by the Supreme Court decades ago in Heart of Atlanta Motel v. United States.

Hey, Troll4Life, thanks very much for once again demonstrating that you're just as demented and vicious as the lunatic bigots we mock here.

Who the hell is the government forcing to work for anyone? Nobody is forced to work for another person.
