1) Sex in prison actually has little to do with actual pleasure, and a lot to do with power, and control. The only way to get out from being someone's bitch, is to rape someone else.
2) This is actually a statistical anomoly brought on by the fact that there are considerably more men in China than women. Statistically, men are more likely to be gay than women, so if there are more men in the country, the number of proportionate gay men in the population will obviously rise a fair bit.
3) This is just too stupid to comment on.
And why does the United States need MORE people? Its hard enough to find jobs for the ones we already have. Having gay couples who aren't reproducing will hopefully get the population back under control.

Yeah, the juvenile crime rate in Germany is SOOOO much higher than it in the USA or in fast breeding countries like Columbia.
Isn't China's GDP rising at it's fastest rate since the 40's DESPITE a national population depeltion policy (one that Wyatt is apparently aware of)?
Isn't a GDP primarily decided by natual resource management and technology level. You can have a rising population and a falling GDP if the National Average Standard of Living falls and isn't the NASL what mostly determines if a country is 1st world, developing or 3rd world? A country with one trillionaire king and a billion dirt farmers would have a pretty high GNP but it'll still be a 3rd world nation.

1) As already stated isn't about homosexuality the majority of the time, but power and control. Didn't you ever watch the show OZ on HBO? :P
2) Firstly China has a one child per family policy. Secondly, due to cultural beliefs, boys are preferred (especially in farming areas). Female fetuses are either aborted or brought to term and abandoned or given up for adoption. That's why the male to female ratio is so disproportionate.
3) *sighs* I can only hear this argument so many times before I just want to pull my hair out and scream. There was homosexuality and pedastry in Greece and Rome, yes. However, to say that alone contributed to their downfall (if at all) is pretty damn stupid. Pick up a history book some time.

I know this is quite beyond the point, but Marin County is just across the Golden Gate bridge north of San Francisco. I was born and raised there and I am proud to say that the people there are very liberal and open-minded, much like SF. I went to preschool there with kids who had two mommies or two daddies, and this was widely accepted. So basically San Francisco already looks like Marin County...

There was never a Grecian empire. There were Greek city-states that fought the Persians and each other constantly, and there was the Hellenistic empire of Alexander, which died when he did. Also, gay pedophilia was a small part of Greek culture, only hypothesized to have happened between children and their mentors, only in some cases. It was in no way endemic. You know, not in the way the medieval Europe (Christendom) was, or the officers of the British Empire.

Millions of sperms are shooted out in each ejaculation, one in about 1000 ejaculations actually get to impregnate an egg cell.
Why do you care if it's 1 in 1000 or 1 in 6000? To me the Earth seems overpopulated as it is.

Even ignoring resource constraints, gdp PER HEAD will not grow faster just because people increase in number (it's actually slightly lower, see Solow-Swan model). Introduce resource constraints, and fast breeding nations go third world quickly.
And yes, repressive same sex environments like prison, army, churches, or victorian college lead to higher incidence of same-sex relationships.
