I can not wait until hispanics become the majority. Then let the hispanic men suffer the rath of things like affirmative action. There is only 1 majority.....and that is white men. The only ones that can't win by being the best at what they do......not as long as there is a hispanic or black or any other minority that wants a position.......they move to the front of the line. I can't wait for the day to whine and whine about how the hispanic men are discriminating against me......suing anyone who gives a job to a hispanic man over me.
Of course I'll be dead by the time it happens....but its been years and years of discrimination against the white man just because there are more of us.

Majority=/=Dominant
In post-apartheid South Africa where blacks are the majority the economic situation and patterns of discrimination are still heavily tilted towards whites. While there are still quite a few white racists who long for the days of apartheid and while there are some black people who hate white people there aren't that many because of the solidarity they built with their white anti-racist allies during the struggle against apartheid and the message of interracial unity promoted by Nelson Mandela.
I'm against affirmative action myself because you can't fix discrimination with more discrimination. But this post is an EPIC FAIL.
1) Actually, white WOMEN are the majority demographic in the US when it comes race and gender. There are more women than men in every "race" and ethnicity. Except maybe in China (due to gender discrimination in the One Child Policy).
2) White women are the primary beneficiaries of Affirmative Action in numbers. The majority of AA hires are white women. Of course that helps white households since the majority of working white women are the 2nd breadwinner (or even the only breadwinner) of white households. Ironically white people are the group that benefit most from AA.
3) Hispanics of both genders are eligible for AA. So are Jewish white men.
4) AA is not mandatory except for some public sector agencies. Private sector jobs can apply AA at their own discretion and by law all AA hires must meet at least minimum qualifications. Few jobs in the jobs market are AA hire jobs. Even IF all employed black Americans were AA hires it would only displace about 2% of white men in the job market:

5) AA has not done away with hiring discrimination. Studies show blacks on average are still 50% more likely to be turned down than whites for the same jobs. EVEN with identical qualifications. They've done studies submitting dummy applications with "white-sounding names" for job openings and then re-submitted the same exact applications with a "black-sounding name" or applicant with a "black-sounding voice" over the phone.

There is also still wage discrimination - minorities earning less for the same jobs than their white coworkers. Even if the minority employees have been there longer or are more experienced. Partially because white customers are more likely to want to deal with white employees, thus white employees may get more business. White customers are more likely to try to go over the head of a nonwhite employee and ask to speak to a manger they presume is white.
6) I think AA should be retooled and based on class instead of race (I think that would be much more fair and help more of the intended targets) but this line that AA is "anti-white" is just untrue. It IS discriminatory, and discrimination won't necessarily fix discrimination, but it was not created to hurt or "get back at" white people. It was created by the Nixon Administration for God's sakes. Nixon was by no means a great lover of black people or "an anti-white, white-guilt liberal" (he was actually quite racist and was semi-opposed to Civil Rights). He allowed its creation purely because he thought it would be economically profitable and help create a larger black middle class (therefore more consumers for the American market). The policy was purely mercenary and utilitarian.
7) WHY DO ANTI-AA PEOPLE *ALWAYS* ASSUME WHITE MEN ARE THE BEST-QUALIFIED OR MOST SKILLED PEOPLE? People who aren't white man may not have the job because they're the best at what THEY do? Also, why do these idiots always assume everyone in the workplace was the cream of the crop of applicants? They seem to think we would live in a meritocracy if it weren't for AA. A LOT of people in the workplace weren't the best-qualified or get by on nepotism, cronyism, family legacies, networking connections or plain old favoritism from sucking up to bosses or being tattle-tales on other employees.

Back when I first went to work in my grandpa's machine shop, I had absolutely no background in anything remotely related to the trade. He still hired me, over another guy, who was an experienced machinist. He hired me because I am family (I'd actually not been around that side much before going to work for him), and I needed a job. I'm not one bit sorry that I took advantage of preferential treatment despite my lack of qualification, and neither would you be, or anyone else who seriously wanted to work.
