Quote# 87539

I've seen videos on youtube where stars admit to selling their soul to the devil in order to become successful and famous. I've also heard about musicians channeling spirits to get inspiration for their music and to help them perform. Michael Jackson for one. The way Beyonce talks about her alter ego Sasha Fierce definitely sounds like she's being possessed by a spirit that's performing through her.

"I've seen those videos as well, it's what we call a METAPHOR. Same thing with the "channelling spirits". Not meant to be taken literally."

Nice to see you also generalise and make assumptions.

@Jessica
"Spirits are not real. They were made up to explain mental and physical illness in the days before the natural philosophers managed to get their noses in the door without fear of being burned by the church authorities".

Another glaring assumption. Perhaps some types of "spiritual experience" can be put down to mental illness, but not all. When you delve into mediumship you discover all sorts of things outside our present realm.

And your proof for the existence of spirits would be what now? Or are you just assuming that the medium you are paying to make decisions for you is honest? Or are you just trolling?

I don't know... with all the crappy music being produced these days, I think it's not too hard to believe that some evil, demonic force is behind it.

Of course I'm not trolling. The subject of mediumship is complex and the task of producing tangible evidence is extremely difficult. If you are closed minded then it's not going to happen no matter how open minded you like to think you are. I've been on this site for about two years now and I know that the skepticism here is over 9000... but while that's good in terms of debunking religion, it's not so good in being open to the concept of realms outside our conscious experience. Sorry to say this, but the experience has to be personal and the evidence experienced personally. Unfortunately this means the only evidence that can be presented to others is largely anecdotal, and not even I would waste my time trying to present this.

Michael Jackson? Beyonce? No, you're thinking of Deicide and Gorgoroth.

At this point it almost doesn't matter if spirits are real or not. What is most certainly real is the fact that deluded people are out there and they will swallow ANY explanation that gives them comfort, especially if it excuses or justifies their own behavior. If there are spirits, I imagine many are horrified that they are blamed for everything under the sun.

Beyonce is _not_ possessed. She's not weird enough. I have nothing against her music, but she's ultimately just a pop starlet with a big piercing voice and a certain panache at delivering kiss-off singles. She's not interesting enough to be a demonspawn.

Lady Gaga might be possessed. It would explain a lot, although I'd assume music written by the devil would be a little more genuinely unconventional, so my guess is that she's just insane.

Now, Adele...she's possessed. No-one is that good without supernatural help. And frankly, if that's the power of the devil at work, I'll have what she's having.

$20 says the "stars admit to selling their soul" he's talking about is him taking "Starfuckers, Inc." WAY out of context. Just because of the lyric "I sold my soul, but don't you call me a whore" lyric. Although, I can't see Trent selling his soul, seeing as he settled down with a wife and kid.

EDIT: Okay, one other possible song: "The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell".
