The Iroquois say that in the beginning there was no land, only water, and only the fish and the birds lived there. Above them, the sky people lived around the great tree of life, which they revered. One day a woman of the sky-people, who was waiting to give birth, became curious about what was under the tree, and convinced her brother to lift it up so she see. However, when she leant to look into the hole, the edge crumbled and she fell forward into the world below.
Now the earth that fell with her became the land, and the sky woman lived on that land, for she could not climb back up, and gave birth to a daughter. That daughter married the west wind and gave birth to twins, called right-hand and left-hand who began to create the good and bad things of the world respectively.

Woman - tree - fall, the resemblence is uncanny. Same ol' superspurt, cherry-picking the 1% that fits, ignoring the 99% that doesn't.

And I still can't figure out whether Stuporspurt is the fundiest man alive or the most determined troll in the history of trollkind.

What... I mean, I just want to know... Uhm.. What?
Sure, sure, it's Supersport, but even so. This feels silly even for Supersport.
[just kidding, nothing is too silly for Supersport]

Bong Hit Barbie
I'm part Cherokee and I have zero recollection of any "days of creation."
3/3/2011 5:05:48 AM
Well, according to you, everyone's ancestors were there.
How, by the way do you account for the fact that racial memory has no mention in your book? Or that the bible places creation in the middle east? Which of Noah's sons are the "injuns" descended from? Whence come all the Indian legends that don't sound like Genesis?
3/3/2011 5:23:06 AM
There has to be a cure or pill for that...
3/3/2011 5:41:39 AM
I can't even remember my father's apprenticeship!
3/3/2011 5:58:15 AM
About the only thing similar to Genesis in most Native American creation myths I've heard is that they're creation myths. Otherwise they're entirely different stories. It's like using Leatherface to prove that Freddy Krueger exists.
3/3/2011 6:03:11 AM
Since you believe all of us came from Adam and Eve, wouldn't that mean that ALL OF US had ancestors there and therefore all of us should have memories from the book of Genesis?
3/3/2011 6:08:32 AM
Is it any wonder that christians have vauge memories of the indian story of creation? That's because their ancestors were there.
The Iriquoi know there was a tree of life during the creation period, and that dim distorted memory found it's way into christianist myth.
3/3/2011 6:12:33 AM
That's nice, now how about some tangible evidence for creationism?
(Dang, it feels like I say that a lot)
3/3/2011 6:36:58 AM
Oh Supersport, How dull the world would be without your inane silly mind!!!
3/3/2011 6:44:32 AM
Ahh vague memories. Such a rich vein of rock solid evidence.
3/3/2011 6:53:50 AM
Is it any wonder that the American Indian seems to have vague memories of the days of creation?..
So, either creation happened around 70-80 years ago, or else American Indians are really, really, really, old?
And do you really think it's unusual for a society to have a creation myth, when there have been hundreds of different creation myths?
3/3/2011 7:14:22 AM
So the mormons are right! Native Americans ARE descended from Jews!
3/3/2011 7:28:16 AM
He does know that Native American creation stories don't sound at all like Genesis?
3/3/2011 7:36:00 AM
OKay first off, nice sweeping generalization of Native Americans douchebag.
Also, many tribes have varying creation stories, most of which are wholly different than the one from your babble.

I love his signature quote. Larmarckian genetics is just so in these days.
3/3/2011 8:17:10 AM
Holy celestial teapot! He's baaaaack!
"so now science tells us that some of the earliest humans put feathers on their heads, smeared paint on their faces and shot the bow and arrow."
How does that have anything to do with your little book of fairy tales?
3/3/2011 8:24:01 AM
Guess who's back,
Alert the mods!
Guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back...
3/3/2011 8:24:25 AM
Once again, Supersport delivers.
3/3/2011 9:26:50 AM
What? When did the creation story in the Bible get mentioned in this discussion? And why do I have the sneaking suspicion that you have no idea what the scientists actually said?
3/3/2011 9:38:31 AM
Despite being totally crazy you got to give him credit for imagination.
I've never heard any creation try to give that explanation.
