Quote# 77942

Wiccan should have their kids taken away. Anyone who isn’t raising their children in a Christian home should have their children taken away, it is mental, emotional and spiritual abuse. Period. End of discussion. Case closed.

D Laurier

Fuck you Teena.
Fuck you AND your residential school mentality.

What D Laurier said.

And frankly, what do you intend to do with these millions of kids who aren't being properly raised Christian? Send them to reeducation camps?

Frankly, I think kids being raised in fundie Christian homes are subject to far more mental and emotional abuse than kids being raised in atheist or even mainstream Christian homes.

emau99

Whereas forcibly removing children from loving homes is good for them. Totally.

Mudak

You do realize that the phrase "it is mental, emotional, and spiritual abuse" from this quote actually appears -- from a strictly grammatical perspective -- to apply to raising children in a Christian home.

Now THAT's something I could agree with.

I am not scaring my kids with stories of monsters and eternal damnation. The abuse is yours you dumb cunt.

-shrug- I still intend on raising any future kids of mine to be open-minded, and allow them the freedom to explore and make their own choices.
Made that decision when I was Wiccan and still stick by it, even as an Eclectic Pagan.

It's perfectly acceptable to force beliefs down a child's throat.

Wait, what?

Wow! Perfect! I just take your quote Teena, and the following comma-delimited file:

Catholic, Protestant, Atheist, Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, Muslim, Hindu, (etc.)

... and with a couple of lines of code to randomize selection, I have the best bigot-bot ever! It even has the first word as the object of random hatred. What could be simpler except you, yourself Teena?

So NOT brainwashing and indoctrinating children is abuse now?

Anyone who isn’t raising their children in a Christian home should have their children taken away

OK - taking my statistics from here, here and here.

Christianity is claimed by about 31% of the world population - so that's about 2.1 billion.

That means that 6.8 - 2.1 = 4.7 billion are not christian.

Of these 4.7 billion, approximately 26.2% are aged between 0 and 14 - so it is fair enough to refer to them as 'children'. 26.2% of 4.7 billion = about 1.23 billion.

So, according to your sweeping statement above, about 1.23 billion children should be taken away from their parents for the crime of not being raised in a christian home.

Tell me, Teena - how old are you? 11? Maybe 12?

Whatever your age - you are an ignorant, thoughtless cunt.

"Wiccan should have their kids taken away. Anyone who isn’t raising their children in a Christian home should have their children taken away, it is mental, emotional and spiritual abuse. Period. End of discussion. Case closed."

And then Teena woke up, found herself back in her Obama-presided and increasingly secular USA, based on it's Constitution which guarantees freedom of worship - including Wicca - and she cried.

;_;

Christian should have their kids taken away. Anyone who is raising their children in a home where their heads are filled with hatred from a book of genocide, misogny and irrationality should have their children taken away, it is mental, emotional and spiritual abuse. Period. End of discussion. Case closed.

So...all the good Christian families would have to take on all the displaced kids then, wouldn't they? Family sizes are going to shoot through the roof. That show 18 Kids and Counting or whatever would seem like a tiny number. "Hah, you only have 18 kids? I have 47 good Christian children! And we're adopting again next month!"

12/9/2010 8:19:18 AM

"it is mental, emotional and spiritual abuse"

Is that before or after the good christians brain wash, molest and beat the children?

> Anyone who isn’t raising their children in a Christian home should have their children taken away,

And where, pray tell, would you put these children?

I mean, besides some nebulous facts that they should be put into Christian families. Who would take them? How would you arrange this thing? How do you ensure Christian families give attention to random children who are thrust to their care? I mean, I'm sure some families would love to have another child, even if it's not theirs, but you can't ensure all of them end up in good homes, can you?

Don't propose crap like this unless you've thought of the implications.

...wait, thinking of the implications is one of those evil Wiccan ideas that should be avoided at any cost by true Christians. Fundies know the Earth is fucked and Rapture is near, so there's no reason to think of the practical consequences of any actions. Just go spout hot air about politics. That's all that matters.

> it is mental, emotional and spiritual abuse.

You've made your point. Your implications are easily understood. The narrative of your post ties up all points admirably and your rhetoric leaves nothing unclear to a savvy reader.

But I try not to embellish my writing quite like this. =)
