Quote# 77569

[After being informed that the red squirrel dying out and being replaced by the grey squirrel due to disease is a form of natural selection.]

The red squirrel is dying because the grey is spreading a disease. This is what happens when things mix. This has nothing to do with 'natural selection'.

The Bible says God created everything within a specific boundary and designated it an area. The greys are not native and have broken out of their indigeous habitat and are killing off the red squirrels.

I don't think you understand the term 'natural selection'.

-----------------------------------------------

"[D]isease is an environmental factor. It is a form of natural selection in the same way that predation is: those who are affected do not pass on their genes, while those who avoid it (because of a behavioural, physiological, or geographical reason) do."

Only evolutionists believe disease is an environmental factor. The root of disease in the Bible is sin or faulty thinking or doing. Again this is the case where we have polar opposite beliefs on an issue.

> The root of disease in the Bible is sin or faulty thinking or doing.

But I thought animals were incapable of sin, as they do not have souls. Hence, according to you, they should not have diseases.

Fundies: not the most logical beasts in the world.

So, by this logic, if a career criminal who's up-to-date on his shots and a 3 year-old from the anti-vax crowd both step on a nail, it's more likely that the criminal will get tetanus?

"The root of disease in the Bible is sin or faulty thinking or doing."

So the red squirrels are all sinners and the grey squirrels (who are mostly unaffected) are all paragons of virtue then?

Doesn't that directly contradict what you previously said about God giving everything a designated area? If the greys have broken out of their God-given domain and stolen the reds', why is God punishing the red squirels for the greys' disobedience?

So what sins are red squirrels guilty of?

In the immortal words of John McEnroe, you cannot be serious!

Red squirrels - sinful bastards!

(Although since the greys were introduced to Britain by some idiot, it isn't, strictly speaking, natural selection).

Can't we just declare Cassiterides "Stupid-ass Fundie of the Year" and get on with it?

So he denies the germ theory of disease as well. Now we know that Cassiterides does not believe in astronomy, gravity, the wave theory of light, evolution, and now, the germ theory of disease. I highly doubt that he is willing to swallow a test tube full of pathogen, even if he is sure that he did not commit any sins while doing so. Which makes him a hypocrite (if he isn't a Poe, and I'm beginning to think he is) and should just fuck off.

And in related news, I saw some grey squirrels today. They're so cute with their gathering leaves, and running up trees, and causing the deaths of red squirrels. Yup, definitely nothing sinful about them!

Well, gosh. Here was me thinking it was because the grey squirrel was much more violent and possessive of land than red squirrels!

...also, wtf do squirrels have to do with the Bible again?
