Quote# 74151

Although I did not fully understand the meaning of the emotions I was experience then, I understand them better now. Much of the joy I felt after shooting the abortionist, and still feel today, is the joy of having freely obeyed Christ after long being enslaved to fearful obedience to men.

I well remember (prior to the shooting) the oppressive feeling of realizing that I was not free to defend my neighbors as Christ requires. Wrath was ready to be poured out on me if I cast off the shackles of passive submission to the State. The fear of being persecuted for disobeying our tyrannical government made submitting to its yoke seem attractive. My mind and will recoiled from the high cost of acting responsibly. It required an act of the will to even consider obeying the Lord.

The inner joy and peace that have flooded my soul since I have cast off the State's tyranny makes my little cell a triumphant and newly liberated kingdom. I shutter at the thought of ever returning to the oppressive bondage currently enforced by the State.

You know you created god in your image when he hates the same people you do...

Well then, Paul, enjoy. You'll have the freedom to rave and gibber in your little concrete Crackerjack box forever and ever.

Maybe it's me, but you sound rather like a tyrant

Next week, how the Lord wants everybody who isn't a Real True Christian cleansed from the Earth.

Chapter and verse where the Bible says it's wrong to kill unborn fetuses. NOW!!!

There are several chapters and verses where it says You should not murder other people. That is what you have done, Pauly.
There are also chapters and verses that don't look on the lives of women, children and, particularly, unborn fetuses, as particularly valuable. Only as property are they valuable.
If you cause an unmarried woman to miscarry, without hurting the woman, no punishment is exacted. If you cause a married woman to miscarry, and hurt the woman, you have to pay a fine to her husband for her injuries, not the loss of the fetus.

Only when women could have safe abortions, performed by doctors, did this become a large problem. Women could then decide for themselves what happened to their bodies, without risking their own lives in the process. AAAAAAAH, TEH HORROR!!!

Seconded.

David D.G.

Strange that he should call this "having freely obeyed Christ," because I don't recall where Christ is said to have ordered the murder of ANYONE.

In fact, he is said to have commanded his followers to obey the laws of secular authority, and even to "turn the other cheek" when persecuted (as if other people's personal medical procedures could possibly "persecute" Christians in any way whatsoever).

Sorry, Mr. Hill, but your fanaticism has utterly blinded you. By committing a willful murder, you have not obeyed Christ; rather, you have disobeyed him in the profoundest manner possible. The only thing that you have "obeyed" in this matter is your own fanatical violent impulses, and the "peace" that you feel is nothing but rationalization.

Old news.
Paul Hill was executed by the state of Florida for murder back in 2003. If there is a god, I wager Paul knows all about his feelings towards his actions by now.

> Much of the joy I felt after shooting the abortionist, and still feel today, is the joy of having freely obeyed Christ after long being enslaved to fearful obedience to men.

Yeah, there's the pesky real-world repercussions, community standards, and the laws of society that stop you from doing as the God demands you and... um... damn... love your neighbour?

> I was not free to defend my neighbors as Christ requires.

Maybe next time you should ask how your neighbours prefer themselves to be protected? After all, it's their threat, hence primarily their concern.

> makes my little cell a triumphant and newly liberated kingdom. I shutter at the thought of ever returning to the oppressive bondage currently enforced by the State.

The oppressive bondage where the rest of the humanity lives? You may notice that they're conspicuously absent from that little cell of yours.

Where are your neighbours now?

You know what? Many serial killers would absolutely agree with you!

Much of the joy I felt after shooting the abortionist, and still feel today, is the joy of having freely obeyed Christ...

You walked up to an unarmed man in his church and shot him in the face at point-blank range. At your trial, you said you had to kill him because murder was wrong. Now you're talking about the joy you feel about having done so?

If heaven exists, Paul, you're never going to see it.

...after long being enslaved to fearful obedience to men.

I'm willing to bet that you wet your bed regularly as an adult.

The fear of being persecuted for disobeying our tyrannical government made submitting to its yoke seem attractive.

Dude, you have no fucking clue what tyranny is.

I notice that you're talking about fear and persecution again. Is there something you want to tell us?

My mind and will recoiled from the high cost of acting responsibly.

Acting responsibly? I guess that's why you fled the scene after you shot him, huh?

The inner joy and peace that have flooded my soul since I have cast off the State's tyranny makes my little cell a triumphant and newly liberated kingdom.

Enjoy your reign, Paul I. You're going to be in your little kingdom for quite a long time. Until the next time they pull you out of your cell for a contraband check, that is.

How many hours of natural sunlight does your little kingdom get every day, anyway?

I shutter at the thought of ever returning to the oppressive bondage currently enforced by the State.

Yeah, you finally made it big, didn't you, little man?

Just don't drop the soap...

EDIT: Dammit--I confused this guy with Scott Roeder, the guy who shot George Tiller. Obviously, that invalidates some of the details of my post. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, a state that puts you in jail for killing a decent human being is the most tyrannical state imaginable. I wish I could believe this was a Poe.

Now, there's a brain that I have to soak into acid. Ideally it would be Paul Hill's, but I guess mine will do the trick as well.

Ahh, the ramblings of the fundie mind.

The scariest thing is not that he boasts of feeling joy after committing murder, but that there are so many cowardly pussies like him amongst the rest of us.
