1. The speed of light in a vacuum is a consequence of Maxwell's equations and does not need to be directly measured since it can be calculated by measuring more ameniable electromagnetic systems.

2. The value of c is now defined as a particular value, and the meter and the second are determined from it. Special Relativity predicts that both time and space can vary but not the speed of light. A prediction that has been confirmed time and time again.

3. Light has never been observed to go faster than c, though electromagnetic wavefronts have (phase velocity).

It has only been in the very recent that particles have been seemingly coaxed past the speed of light. Outside the lab, this "additional" speed has not been observed.

I wouldn't consider the increase in far excess.

That's faster than light in the medium, not faster than c.

Cherenkov radiation does that. The classic blue glow of radioactive cores in water is actually caused by electrons travelling through the water faster than light can. They are effectively breaking the light barrier (for water) and so throw off a "photonic boom", which is the glow.

The speed of light is one of the best defined constants in the universe. I know of no circumstances where light ever travels faster, never mind "far in excess" of the norm.
I would love to know who filled your head with this shit.

Edit: I just looked at that forum and there is a whole lot of stupid happening on it. The lengths these Creationists will go through to demonstrate a 6000 year old universe is truly mind-boggling. What absolute fail.
