Your stopwatch and tape measure aren't accurate enough.

O RLY?

With the rate at which your mouth is dripping with shit, I think it's safe to say we won't get a vacuum with you around.
1/29/2010 9:27:13 AM
Ah, more arguments from the school of making shit up...
1/29/2010 9:31:59 AM
This is painfully stupid in many levels. I recommend turning this guy into a pile of strange matter.
1/29/2010 9:32:04 AM
Seriously, stop lying. If this is what your faith has to resort to then just hang it up.
1/29/2010 9:35:18 AM
well at least we found a perfect vacuum, right inside his head where the brain should be.
1/29/2010 9:37:04 AM
What kind of retard.... no... let me re-phrase
Retards have been measured at many different levels, some of them far in excess of the "textbook" retard.
1/29/2010 9:40:19 AM
Ok first of all...
What the hell does the speed of light have to do with the evolution of living organisms on Earth?
And second of all...

1/29/2010 10:00:27 AM
You know what I'd like to see?
I'd like to see a citation on that.
1/29/2010 10:11:28 AM
*does the Citation Needed tango*
1/29/2010 10:12:27 AM
I'm guessing the reason he brought up the speed of light on an anti-evolution forum was to go after the whole "we can see stars over 6000 light-years away" thing.
1/29/2010 10:14:37 AM
Nah, I actually trust the folks who went to the trouble of getting PhDs in fields related to space and all that. They know far more about the subject than I do, so they're much more likely to be correct about things like that than I am.
1/29/2010 10:14:49 AM
I guess you've never heard of vacuum tubes?
1/29/2010 10:32:52 AM
The perfect vacuum was the 1969 Electrolux canister. That thing lasted forever!
Well since that's about their level of understanding, why the hell not
1/29/2010 10:34:09 AM
TRANSLATION: " I must lie and make up stories about things I do not understand in order to verify to myself that my religious beliefs are correct."
1/29/2010 10:41:53 AM
And Evolution has been measured by many scientists and other learned men and found to be accurate.
Oh, and nylon eating bacteria.
And to bring it down to your level, CTD, nylon eating bacteria means we win.

1. The speed of light in a vacuum is a consequence of Maxwell's equations and does not need to be directly measured since it can be calculated by measuring more ameniable electromagnetic systems.
2. The value of c is now defined as a particular value, and the meter and the second are determined from it. Special Relativity predicts that both time and space can vary but not the speed of light. A prediction that has been confirmed time and time again.
3. Light has never been observed to go faster than c, though electromagnetic wavefronts have (phase velocity).
1/29/2010 10:57:17 AM
It has only been in the very recent that particles have been seemingly coaxed past the speed of light. Outside the lab, this "additional" speed has not been observed.
I wouldn't consider the increase in far excess.
1/29/2010 10:57:55 AM
That's faster than light in the medium, not faster than c
Cherenkov radiation does that. The classic blue glow of radioactive cores in water is actually caused by electrons travelling through the water faster than light can. They are effectively breaking the light barrier (for water) and so throw off a "photonic boom", which is the glow.
1/29/2010 11:06:17 AM
Nope. Light have been measured traveling at many different speeds, but not in excess of the "textbook" speed of light in a vacuum.
1/29/2010 11:14:09 AM
Are you really that fucking stupid? Have you never taken a real science class or were you homeskooled?
The speed of light is one of the best defined constants in the universe. I know of no circumstances where light ever travels faster, never mind "far in excess" of the norm.
I would love to know who filled your head with this shit.
Edit: I just looked at that forum and there is a whole lot of stupid happening on it. The lengths these Creationists will go through to demonstrate a 6000 year old universe is truly mind-boggling. What absolute fail.

What's amazing about fundtards isn't that they blatantly lie, it's their ability to do it with a straight face.
