Even without theistic belief, you can still have a meaning to your life. Even without a meaning to life, you can still feel guilt. Even if you get caught, you shouldn't necessarily lie.

CHRISTIANS TELL THEIR CHILDREN
That a 2000 year old jewish zombie will save them from sin and give them a mansion in the sky if they believe everything they are told without question. Just don't think. Or if you do, then lie to yourself lie to yourself lie to yourself. Why not!?

Funny how guilt is the first thing you think of, isn't it? Oh yeah, because guilt keeps people scared and easily controllable.
So not only is man loaded with sin, he doesn't have a concept of compassion until God teaches him? I've said it a million times, God's a crappy designer.

No, we tell them the meaning of life is 42 and that it is good to have a towel with them at all times.

That there is no meaning to life.
As opposed to you who tell your kids that the only reason the exist is to worship god.
Thusly, there's no true guilt.
When I do someting I know is wrong, I feel guilty. No god needed.
So do whatever you want to whomever you want. Just don't get caught.
As opposed to fundies who, after they do something wrong they pray for their god to forgive them, rather than man up and speak to the actual person.
Or if you do, then lie lie lie. Why not!?
Doing that will just get you in worse trouble.

No, they teach their kids to be honest and compassionate, to respect others, and to live life fully. (Unlike Christians, who have no problem teaching them to "lie lie lie".)

It seems so weird how these 'Christians' seem almost jealous of atheists amazing 'ability to commit horrible crimes without consequences.'

Ummmmmmmm no. I told my son that THIS is the only life he gets, so make sure he gets it right. If he wrongs someone, then right it. If he makes a mistake, then apologize. Live the best and most honest life he can NOW, because he doesn't get a second chance to do so later.
You are a douche who needs the threat and scare of an imaginary sky-daddy and his boogeyman counterpart in order to be and do good. DIAF

That's not how my parents brought me and my brother and sister up. It's not how I brought my children up. It's not how they're going to bring my grandchildren up. We've all turned out pretty well so far. None of us has committed any crimes, all of us have made useful contributions to society, we've had no divorces or other family break-ups, and we all still get along together pretty well.
And that's because what my parents taught me was to work hard, play nice, remember where I came from, respect others and above all never do anything that might cause me to lose my self-respect. No threats or bribes from deities required.

We... we do? I'm glad I've got you here to tell me these things, I'd never have told my children something so batshit insane without this help.
It's interesting that, while for you living to please your god is the meaning to your life, if that's not there, you can't even imagine, even for a moment, filling the percieved void void with something else - living to improve the lives of others, for a rather selfless example. I can see many reasons to do what we call "good" beyond not wanting to annoy a deity. I'm worried that you can't.

There is no point to life APART FROM WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT. Why is that so hard to understand.
This is life. You get one. Use it. Make your own reason to live.
There is guilt. If I do something bad to someone, I feel guilty. Probably because I'm not a sociopath. Doesn't need a god thing.
I hate lying. Because when you lie, you have to remember the lie. Easier to not lie. Less to remember. But then that makes be slothful?? :)
