Quote# 65356

darwinists think playing dungeons and dragons is cool. In fact, they often plagiarize dungeons and dragons by stating that there are multiple universes and this is just one of billions of universes, therefore that is how darwinism can be true.

Yes, although it's just nonsense fantasy in dungeons and dragons, darwinists have taken that and turned it into a crackpot idea that they actually, truly believe is part of real-life.

I can't even begin to tell you how many dozens of times I've seen darwinists advocating that crackpot, dungeons and dragons plagiarized idea on the Expelled board.

Just goes to show once again that darwinists are batty.

Oni

Christians based Jesus on World of Warcraft shamans, what with the self resurrection and water walking.

nonsense fantasy indeed.

edit: though not to mention everything else that is drastically wrong about this statement.

The Darwinists I know are playing Playstation 3 now.

God of the Old Testament: Retribution-specced Paladin.
- What with the nearly-infinite tools at his disposal to outlast you in single-combat and his unique ability to strike down innumerable foes through the art of energetic facerolling, the God of the Old Testament is a class to be feared and avoided at all costs.

God of the New Testament: Restoration-specced Shaman.
- With of the release of the first expansion, God found himself at a crossroads and discovered that he had grown tired of such effortless slaughter and opted to roll a more peaceful class. He wandered the width and breadth of Azeroth, demonstrating his miraculous abilities. In Stranglethorn Vale he walked on water and healed the gravely ill, so that all might see his divinity. In a tragic turn, he aggroed too many goblins and was slain, but when they all reset he stunned his loyal followers yet again by Self-Resurrecting and continuing his noble work.

What path shall God follow in the next expansion? No one knows, and for their part Blizzard has delayed its release now for more than 2000 years.

The bastards.

Evolution is a scientific theory. D+D is a fantasy game. If you can't tell the difference, no wonder you try to discredit both of them.

Uh... what?

Bullshit.

I used to play Dungeons and Dragons and nobody honestly thought it was very "cool".

What the fuck?

Any multi-universe theory wouldn't have anything to do with biological evolution and certainly wouldn't have anything to do with Darwin. And I'm sure D&D is hardly the first fantasy or sci-fi brand to have a "multiverse" (if it indeed does, I'm not a D&D player).

Personally, I prefer V:TM and it's clones, or Shadowrun. I'm not big on the faux-Tolkien setting of D&D and I prefer that characters have well thought out motivations rather than two word alignments.

Also, what the fuck are you talking about?

"Just goes to show once again that darwinists are batty. "

It's not the Darwinists that have been shown to be batty here.

"they often plagiarize dungeons and dragons by stating that there are multiple universes"

"Many-worlds hypothesis", postulated by Hugh Everett in 1957.
"Dungeons and Dragons", designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson in 1974.

Invented time-travel have they?

Until you can relate evolution to Halo I don't really care.

The concept of alternate universes wasn't even invented by roleplaying games, you stupid moron. The theory has roots in fucking Hinduism, if you wanted to paint a target.

Um, I used to play D&D but now I'm playing Fallout 3 on PS3.

See?! Evolution DOES happen!

The difference between D&D players and Fundies is that D&Ders generally understand what fantasy is. Fundies, on the other hand, advocate ridiculous, crackpot ideas on a continuing basis and claim their fantasy is reality.

Real "darwinists" play pc games.

I can adapt my pc to thrive within a new environment(games). I just have to upgrade a component or two. Therefore, consoles are the neanderthals of gaming.

Also, what the fuck does the idea of multiple universes(im guessing he meant dimensions) have to do with evolution?

9/2/2009 12:29:32 PM

double post

Youd think Id adapt after double posting so many times... I hate myself

9/2/2009 12:32:01 PM

Is this guy confusing the term galaxy with universe? Because there are billions upon billions of galaxies out there, because every time I hear the Alternative Universes Theory it's in sci fi, or hypothetical situations.

9/2/2009 12:33:03 PM

Dungeons and Dragons - created in 1974
Many-worlds interpretation - proposed by Hugh Everett (a physicist) in 1957
The term, "multiverse" - coined in 1895

Reality is not your friend.

I missed the part of the TOE that says anything about multiple universes. Oh, just another misrepresentation that you pulled out of your ass. Let us know when you want to talk about the real TOE.
