Because you've seen what Theocratic dictatorships have done to Saudi Arabia and Iran; 'Sharia Law' and all that jazz, and you wouldn't want that to happen to your precious USA, which is why you're all for your US Constitution, which guarantees you all sorts of rights and freedoms under democratic Rule of Law (which you are duty-bound by your Bible - via Romans 13:1-5 - to obey without question), especially the 1st Amendment.
...or is it just the 2nd, I can hardly tell with you fundies; the way you cherry-pick from that which gives you the very freedom from that dreaded 'Sharia Law' you bang on & on about, in the same way you do with your Bible; specifically that part of Leviticus in the Old Testament, when your precious Jesus doesn't say so much as word one of condemnation of such in the New Testament.
And isn't the NT supposed to render the laws of the OT null & void...?
