So your Jesus is nothing but a would-be tyrant with no concern for the opinions or ideas of the people he intends to govern. And you actually think this entity deserves to be worshiped?

"He is going to establish the rules and we are going to follow them."
Which rules are they? 'Thou shalt not KILL' for example? One of his Ten Commandments. Whereupon in the Old Testament he proceeds to break his own law:
Then, in the New Testament, Jesus (who is actually God) condemns hypocrites.
If anything, I think your 'God' should obey OUR laws.
He's doing a pretty fucking awful job of following his own.
And if you want religion in politics, fine. In that case, science should be in religion. Sack all the right-wing fundie preachers and replace them with the likes of Richard Dawkins. Who tell their congregations that God doesn't exist, the universe was formed from the Big Bang, and we evolved from apes. And if anyone questions this new Atheist doctrine, they're arrested & jailed for life without trial. And this doctrine becomes part of the fundie govt's thinking too - again, life in jail for anyone who disobeys. Religion is part of politics after all.
When I look at all of that, I say it's foolish for mankind not to mix government with Atheist law, don't you?
If the above scenario horrifies you, then you'll know why people react with utter horror at what you say.

If you read the Bible, you will find that Jesus told his friends that he will return in their lifetime.
So he has either already returned and left,
or, he is not comming back at all.

I'm sorry, but if Jesus tries that, and if his laws are anywhere near what you think they'll be, well, I'm not in for that. I believe in Justice and Love. No deity or demigod will ever convince me otherwise. If your Jesus sends me to hell, then so be it. I am willing to suffer for my beliefs, for my subcultures, for the things about me I cannot control.

"MGMickey", so you know exactly what your Jesus will establish? How can you know? May it be possible that your post reflects nothing but your own personal opinion?
How do you react when your Jesus comes back, reconfirms the separation of church and state, legalizes abortion even more, says that evolution is the correct theory which should be taught to children, and that same-sex marriage is a good thing (because he himself would have liked to marry John, had he the opportunity)? Are you sure that Jesus will not do these things?
Back to reality: Jesus - should he have ever existed - is now dead for nearly 2000 years. He will NOT come back, because he has turned into dust a long time ago.
