[Protesters stand outside a Dallas church during a sermon titled "Why Gay is Not O.K."]
They were singing "Jesus Loves Me"
Yes, He surely does, but He does not Love the SIN they're living under of which he calls an abomination, and that they must be put to death. Lev. 20:13
What about this is hard to understand?

Let's take a look at the rest of that chapter.
Lev. 20:9 " 'If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother, and his blood will be on his own head.
10 " 'If a man commits adultery with another man's wifewith the wife of his neighborboth the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
18 " 'If a man lies with a woman during her monthly period and has sexual relations with her, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them must be cut off from their people.
Are we going to use capital punishment for these offenses too?
...the SIN they're living under of which he calls an abomination, and that they must be put to death. Lev. 20:13
Jesus said that? In Leviticus?! Time traveler, eh?
If they're all God's children, or whatever, wouldn't he want them to find love and be happy, regardless of who they find it with?
If not, then God is no parent.
Why is this hard to understand?
You're kidding me, right?
Because you should be an educated modern day person who should know better than to believe in a bronze age fairy tale about a blood thirsty god who demands the death penalty for non-crimes.
Does that answer the question?
The fact that you don't think Jesus is dead and rotted, the fact you want to live your life by the rules of ignorant sheep-herders, the evil that makes you want to persecute your neighbour- all those things are hard to understand.
Ah, Leviticus.
The only book in the Bible where people will pay attention to one line (maybe more than one, but 20:13 is thrown out a lot) and just ignore all the other lines because "they don't count".
so certain they know the mind of god...
In anyone else I'd call "hubris", for the raptards I'd just say blasphemy
Well, if Jesus is God, and if God wrote the bible, then Jesus did say that - so that is a logical extension of those original premises. (If only those original premises were true!)
What gets me is that Christians can't decide if the OT is still valid or not. Jesus said (or more accurately, is quoted as saying) that the Law of the OT would last forever; it was Paul who said it was cancelled. So confusion right there.
Basically, like a lot of things - the OT still stands if it suits them, and doesn't if it doesn't. Simple! Once the rest of us accept that, the happier they'll be.
These threads really demonstrate how crazy and hateful RR really is. Not just by this post, but by how no one is ripping this poster apart for it. In any sane forum, people would be saying "WTF?! You crazy son of a bitch, DIAF!", this post would be deleted, the poster would be suspended or banned, and everyone would be talking about how bad it is. On RR, it is just another post. This amount of crazy hate is actually normal for them.
"Yes, He surely does, but He does not Love the SIN they're living under of which he calls an abomination, and that they must be put to death. Lev. 20:13"
Well I'm sure He doesn't love your hypocrisy, after all, Jesus said that was the thing he hated most. If your going to preach Leviticus, obey ALL of Leviticus:

What about this is hard to understand?
And fundies which I call an abomination, must be put to death.

When you react with horror at the above, you'll realise why people react with horror at what you've just said.
It's also an abomination for you to be sitting there in your singlewide watching Fox News with your husband while you're on the rag, eating Wal-Mart brand crab cakes and wearing your polyester mumu while you've got a super absorbent tampon with synthetic fibers jammed up your twat. Damn, it's a good thing we don't follow Biblical laws to the letter, isn't it???
Because you are not, nor is your clergy. Emissaries of an omnipotent God. For one thing you'd be somehow impressive and commanding, not whiny and afraid.
Let Jesus sort em out later, theres a reason they call it Judgement Day and why He told you not to Judge.
The part where you just focus on "teh gey", and completely ignore people eating shellfish, people wearing clothes of mixed fabrics, people working on the Sabbath, people sowing the wrong crop in the wrong field, and people touching a menstruating woman. All these are equal abominations in the eyes of the Lord, according to the Bible. But, strangely enough, you're just focusing on one of them...
Didn't Jesus say something about "let the person without sin cast the fist stone", implying that we are all sinners, and we should all support each other?
What's hard to understand is why you think that's any of your business. Religion is a choice, and you, unfortunately, have picked out a hate church to attend. Hating people is not a characteristic that is much admired. That's a major character flaw on your part.
I suspect your Jesus isn't going to love you very much for that.
Confused?
