(about the Black Sabbath song Iron Mang
i think if you listen to the lyrics and try to interperate them you would see that this song is about jesus. the wizard is also about jesus. i also believe that black sabbath is a christian end times band. black "the darkest" sabbath "holy day". you have to listen to the lyrics in all of their songs, but one example is the last verse of sabbath bloody sabbath (holy day bloody holy day).EVERY THING AROUND YOU WHAT'S IT COMING TO (refering to the decline of our morals as a society)GOD KNOWS I ASSURE GOD KNOWS GOD BLESSED ALL OF YOU (god sees the decline, god blessed us by sending us a savior) SABBATH BLODDY SABBATH NOTHING MORE TO DO (the day jesus died we were saved from our sin we don't have to do anything but ask jesus to forgive us)LIVING JUST FOR DYING DYING JUST FOR YOU (jesus was born to die on the cross, he died on the cross to pay for your sin). also, childeren of the grave talks about how we are the generation who will see the end. i've only talked about 4 songs. listen to the rest and maybe you will see the truth. i would just like to know what lies ozzy refers to in many of his songs examp."they tell you that your on your own...fill your head all full of lies"

Mmm, that's nice. But you seem to forget that the Black Sabbath song "N.I.B." contains the verse;
"N.I.B." by Black Sabbath
"Now I have you with me, under my power
Our love grows stronger now with every hour
Look into my eyes, you will see who I am
My name is Lucifer, please take my hand."
So much for that whole pro-christian crap you were just spouting.
The song has nothing to do with Jesus.
Wait, you're not even going to mak anything up to support that?
Fucker.
Black Sabbath were Christians, and it did influence their music. However, he gets the second line in the last verse of "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" wrong.
Also, "The Wizard" was just about the dealer that they regularly bought drugs from. Or Gandalf from Lord of the Rings. The lyrics work either way.
Oh, my! OZZY! Now Ozzy's music is somehow... ugh... Christian? BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I wish I could send this to the Ozz-man, I'm sure he'd get a laugh out of it! Seriously, the Blizz may be straightforward in his music, but not even once is there a hint of Christianity!
EDIT: The lies referred to are probably the lies of the establisment, you know, The Man. He states it very plainly in War Pigs.
"Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor
Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait till their judgement day comes, yeah!"
EDIT 2: OZZY IS GOD!
Well, that's a first: fundies interpretting the messages in songs to associate them with Christianity rather than condemn as Satanic. Considering who is applying the process to, however...rather amusing...
Also:" i would just like to know what lies ozzy refers to in many of his songs examp."they tell you that your on your own...fill your head all full of lies""
LOL.
Black Sabbath did do their share of 'Christian' music, I know it sounds odd since they don't suck but a lot of their catalogue could be considered Christian rock.
"Could it be you're afraid of what you friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above
They should realize before they criticise
That God is the only way to love"
Geezer Butler wrote most of the band's lyrics anyway, though Ozzy always seems to be the most out and out religious. It is strange though that this person picked two of the least obviously religious songs. Sabbath bloody sabbath I suppose uses very religious language in it's wishy washy, 'the world is messed up' message but Children of the grave expecially is just a simple hippie protest song. If it implies this generation will see 'the end' the idea is very much that this will be a bad thing that will happen if the current generation fail to take action to make this world a better place.
EDIT : DUN ... DUN, DUN DUN DUN ... DINANINANINA DUN DUN DUN DUN.
Oh, dude, I will never see Sabbath the same again.
Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?
Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
Well just pass him there
Why should we even care?
He was turned to steel
In the great magnetic field
Where he traveled time
For the future of mankind
Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
Planning his vengeance
That he will soon unfold
Now the time is here
For iron man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved
Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge
Heavy boots of lead
Fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron man lives again!
Master of Reality is the greatest Christian rock album evar.
If you deny, may you be forced to listen to Michael W. Smith and Jars of Clay for eternity.
"Now the time is here
For iron man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved"
So that means that Jesus will kill the people He once saved? So what benefit is it to follow Him?
Here me, oh misguided one! Thou can not find wisdom in the lyrics of bands, for they doth do what they do for wealth, not wisdom.
Also, you are a moron.
It helps his theory that any anti-war song is, in his mind, Christian.
Sabbath wasn't writting Christian songs, a few have been mentioned that you can't, no matter how you interpret them, be considered Christian.
But here's the key point to any attempts to label Sabbath or many bands as Satanic or Christian. It's SECULAR MUSIC. If they can find a use with Christian concepts, even as metaphors, they'll use them, same with Satanic, myth or Occult imigary. Sabbath, Zeppelin, Rush and many others have used all these cultural stories as springboards to their poetry.
Even though the wizard could be about Jesus, the wizard seems a bit too casual, relaxed and non-preachy for Jesus. Iron man is about a time traveller, and most certainly not Jesus.
Confused?
