I've got two questions for Dr. Bradley. Comparing Stalin and Hitler's death camps to Christ's justice of hell is ludicrous. God is a divine being made into the flesh to suffer and feel our pain so He can be a more compassionate and loving God. So how can you compare Hitler and Stalin's judgments with God almighty, the creator of man? Should not Satan be condemned to hell for his pride? How can man try to set himself up as God, above God? Two questions.

"so He can be a more compassionate and loving God"
First reaction - According to fundies, it didn't work.
Second reaction - According to fundies, God doesn't change. Ever. So how could this even begin to work?
Third reaction - If Hitler had had himself nailed to a tree, would that have justified what he did?
"How can man try to set himself up as God, above God?"
Why not? Even the Bible is rife with the concept of sons becoming greater and more powerful than their ancestors. That's usually how it works.
To begin with, Hitler was a dedicated christian. During my school days under the Hilter regime, Mein Kampf and the Bible were compulsary reading - Darwin, incidentally, was banned.
Hitler took the silence of the Vatican to be the approval of his regime.
Later we lived under the heel of Stalin - Darwin remanined banned. It was hell, but a better neighborhood of it.
Most of Stalin's atrocities were against his own satellite states with the exception of Georgia - his birthplace.
"God is a divine being made into the flesh to suffer and feel our pain so He can be a more compassionate and loving God"
Like Quality Assurance?
But then again, God is omniscient. He already knows exactly what's it like to be human, right? I mean, he created our nervous system, he can probably imagine pain.
"God is a divine being made into the flesh to suffer and feel our pain so He can be a more compassionate and loving God."
I thought your god was both omniscient and "perfect". Why would he need to do such a think in order to "be a more compassionate and loving god"?
Aside from that, your god (according to the story) incarnated himself as a human for 33 measly fucking years. Now, I'm no mathematician but I'm pretty sure that 33 years is entirely inconsequential when you've existed for an eternity prior to that and will go on existing for an eternity after that.
"So how can you compare Hitler and Stalin's judgments with God almighty, the creator of man?"
And? Look, if he wanted little playthings he could drown and torture for all eternity he should have stuck with non-sapient beings. Once we became sentient/sapient he no longer has any fucking right to do a damned thing to us.
Satan shouldn't be condemned to eternal torment for pride alone, and man can easily try to set himself up above God because God doesn't exist, and he can set himself up as a god since it is not hard to fill the unfilled void of "big powerful guy".
I find it hilarious that the only reason he can muster for why God cannot be compared to Stalin and Hilter is because God is magical and more powerful. If Superman were to exist and become a genocidal maniac, I'm sure this guy would lauding the glorious, superpowerful man-god for his wisdom in doing so.
You're right, comparing Stalin and Hitler's death camps to the Christian concept of hell is inadequate... being that your "just" deity's punishment for not believing in him is a thousand times worse than the already horrific conditions that were present in those camps.
It may be a Godwin argument, but the fact remains that the Christian God is disturbingly similar to (or, more accurately, a gross caricature of) Hitler.
Your God is far, far away from compassionate.
Stalin and Hitler's death camps were far more humane than the Hell you lot keep blathering about.
once again, why do these people worship such a grade-A douchbag? If this god of theirs were running for president, they'd be voting against their own interests, bar none.
"So how can you compare Hitler and Stalin's judgments with God almighty, the creator of man?"
You're right there's no comparison. God's much worse. Hitler and Stalin murdered millions of people, putting millions through a short, finite pain that ended at their deaths.
God on the other hand has sentenced billions to burn in hell for all eternity, including if we are to believe you only can receive salvation in Christ most of Hitler's victims. Eternal torment is clearly more evil than finite pain and suffering than ends at death.
No question about it the God of the Bible is infinitely more evil than Hitler and Stalin.
"Should not Satan be condemned to hell for his pride?"
What did Satan do that was so evil? Lead a rebellion against a God that tortures his own creations? Tempt Adam and Eve to find knowledge when God wanted to keep them ignorant? Tempt people to do what makes them happy instead of being slaves to God. How many people does God kill in the Bible or order killed? 1000s. How many people does Satan kill or order killed? 0. If I didn't think the Bible was a fairytale I would be worshipping Satan. He sounds like a nice guy who just wants to free humanity from its brutal, oppressive overlord.
God is a divine being made into the flesh to suffer and feel our pain so He can be a more compassionate and loving God
If he had to bring about a change with himself, a change supposedly for the better, that means he was lacking something, and therefore imperfect. If he's imperfect, then the bible is wrong on at least that one account, and the whole circular logic of the bible proving god because god is infallible quickly falls apart. Thank you, sir or ma'am.
Comparing Stalin and Hitler's death camps to Christ's justice of hell is ludicrous.
Correct - the gulags and the extermination camps were finite.
So how can you compare Hitler and Stalin's judgments with God almighty, the creator of man?
Evil is as evil does.
"God is a divine being made into the flesh to suffer and feel our pain so He can be a more compassionate and loving God."
God wasn't compassionate enough so he needed to work on that weakness of his? Well I see he's still got some work to do.
"So how can you compare Hitler and Stalin's judgments with God almighty, the creator of man?"
Hitler has Auschwitz concentration camp, Stalin has his gulags, and God has Gehenna concentration camp.
"Should not Satan be condemned to hell for his pride?"
Well yes if God was willing to send himself to hell and be consistant about it.
Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? -Amos 3:6
Your god isn't prideful?
"How can man try to set himself up as God, above God? Two questions."
In other words, might equals right so God can be a hypocrite.
