Consuming alcohol is not a sin in itself. It is not my opinion; Jesus himself has said very clearly that nothing that goes into our stomach can defile us, but what defiles us is that comes out of us. I think your sister is not old enough to taste liquor. Moreover, it is my strong opinion that women must not use alcohol. It is meant for men. If she likes, she may use drinks with less alcoholic content. Alcohol becomes a villain, when it starts controlling your life. It is likely that people who use alcohol can become addicted to it. So, when we deal with such things, we have to be very careful that it does not make any change to our character and it does not become a hindrance between our relationship with God. Tell her to be in control of herself, and to use it once she becomes a matured woman, if necessary.

Funny, but not very fundie.
Fundie is when people like Bro Randy say that the KJV is the inerrant word of God and simultaneously claim that Biblical wine was not in fact wine at all but unfermented grape juice.
Ahem.
As a proud Irish woman, I can say that I have lived after drinking 600 mls of *straight* vodka, one shot of absinthe (with the woodworm, wormwood, whatever makes you see a green fairy...), three pulses and one beer in a span of 4 hours.
Did it make me evil? Unless you think dancing is evil, then no. And I suffered no hangover whatsoever.
And fuck you, I drink a hell of a lot better than most men can.
nothing that goes into our stomach can defile us
Except for, you know, all those things you're not allowed to eat. Remember, from the book that says you can't be gay- there are other things you can't do too, but you tend to forget those.
Women might have a lower tolerance, as they tend to be smaller of stature. But a man and woman of equal size have equal tolerance to alcohol.
And clue up, you twit. Your own bible doesn't say wine/beer/spirts are evil or bad. It's public drunkenness, the abuse of wine, beer etc.
"Moreover, it is my strong opinion that women must not use alcohol. "
Where does Jesus say women can't drink alcohol? Nowhere? Then STFU.
"What defiles us is that [which] comes out of us."
DAMN STRAIGHT! Fucking tikka massaala, makes something VERY defiling come out of me, alright!
THHHHRRRRRRRRRRP.
"Moreover, it is my strong opinion that women must not use alcohol. It is meant for men."
I'll drink you under the table, dude. Let's go.
With the exception of the misogynistic "women must not use alcohol," this isn't all that bad. This guy is essentially saying, "There's nothing wrong with alcohol; just be careful to use it in moderation." Better than most fundies I've heard.
Behind all that fundie speak is still somewhat sound advice. The sister in question is 17, in my opinion old enough to drink but not in copious amounts. It's always better to learn the effects of alcohol in moderation when one is still living with their parents; too many college freshmen get alcohol poisoning from the 'crash course' they get during Welcome Weekend.
Kindly point me to the page in your bible where it says that alcohol is meant for men. I may be more than a little bit suspicious if it's been added in crayon at the end.
As you have proved, people can have a bad character without alcohol anyway.
It must be a troll. I don't think that this person can:
a)missquote a Bible verse, coming from the mouth of the same man who consacrated WINE as his blood(or that turned water into WINE at Cannaan)and who was labelled "drunkard", for drinking..............well, you got the pic.
b)Make up your mind, men can drink alcohol?, didn't you say that it's a SIN. Or wait, she can use it in low levels when she's a mature woman. Well, summing up, MAKE UP YOUR MIND.
Jesus himself has said very clearly that nothing that goes into our stomach can defile us, but what defiles us is that comes out of us.
Mark 7. Yet another case where the bible fails spectacularly.
In this bible passage, the Pharisees criticize Jesus and his disciples that they eat their bread dirty, and that they haven't washed their hands and their eating bowls.
Jesus replies that nothing that goes into us can defile us, but what defiles us is that comes out of us.
In other words: Jesus obviously deems basic hygiene as unneccessary. Another proof that the bible is NOT the infallible word of an omniscient deity, but rather written by normal humans with the knowledge of the 1st century. Microbes were unknown in the 1st century.
"Alcohol becomes a villain, when it starts controlling your life."
Yeah, you are supposed to have fundie men control your life, and tell you whether or not you can drink. Oh, I forgot, they don't deal with adult women, and would prefer to inbreed with their own 13-year-old cousins...
Confused?
