...Buddhism is quite possibly one of the only religions I like, up there with a few, like the Quakers. It doesn't ever seem to produce fundies-hell, it doesn't even have a god (well, most branches of it).

Atheists like to claim that they have no god, but this is not true - Buddha is their god, and atheism is simply another form of Buddhism.
Incorrect! It's already been well-established that atheists are another sect of MUSLIMS!

How do you know that God and Buddah aren't the same? You don't.
You'd better hope not.
Or God/Buddah will give you an eternal ass-kicking.

You ineffably ignorant asshole. The Buddha means the Enlightened one - something there is no fear you will ever be. The Buddha is not a god, nor does Buddhism necessarily posit the existence of any god.

So The Buddha (from the 5th century BC) actively rejected Jesus (from the 1st century AD)? Really?

Yes, jesus swung his hammer in the boys locker-room.
Buddha abandoned his wife and kid.
Your god abandoned his son, and has murdered millions.

Atheists like to claim that they have no god, but this is not true - Buddha is their god, and atheism is simply another form of Buddhism. Buddha is the founder of atheism. Buddha was the first major religious thinker to found a religion or system of belief on the concept of atheism. He rejected every concept of god and instead taught a humanistic doctrine of "right living.

Buddha isn't my god.
If I had one though, I'd be more inclined to follow Buddha than your god of vengeance and destruction and hypocrisy; what's worse, creating your son only to kill him for the sake of others, or abandoning a family in search of enlightenment?

I thought Jesus made his followers leave their families behind.
Jesus expected you to hate your mother, father, brother, sister, etc. Luke 14:26
Jesus and his crew wandered around freeloading as well. I never read anything about a steady income for any of them.
According to you Jesus is a big bully waiting around to push other people into a pit of fire.
Nice guy

"He just choked to death on some rotten pork."
Somehow, I'd rather awesomely die choking on food than to send myself to earth to kill myself to save my creation from myself.

I don't recall anything in the Bible that talks about how awesome Jesus was with a hammer. In fact, the Bible really says very little about his formative years, except that he was pretty damn rude to his mom.
Still, the image of Jesus swinging "a hammer like nobody's business" is pretty cool. Sounds like something I might want to try drawing and post on my refrigerator.

Teh stupid! It burns!!
Where to start? How about the fact that Buddha is a title? Like, *the* Buddha, not Buddha? A title that can be earned? So it would be Mrs. Siddhartha and Baby Siddhartha, since that was his original name. And they probably didn't go hungry, naked, or unhoused, since Siddhartha was a prince and had lots of money. He went to learn how to overcome suffering for all people, which *included* his wife and child, so they would not have to suffer. Lastly, he didn't die by choking on rotten pork. Duh, he knew he was dying of old age and entered a deep state of meditation until he passed away.
And just so you know, the Buddha is NOT a god. He himself, when asked "Are you a god?", replied "I am awake."
Jeez, read the story!!
Moron.

When Buddha died, he came before the Great White Throne and was judged for his sins. He was asked why he rejected Christ, and when he could provide no answer
I think he'd answer "Because Christ won't be born for another two centuries."
Buddha's famous last words were that he forgave the cook who made the spoiled pork stew that gave him a fatal case of food poisoning and told him.

Entirely aside from Buddha not being a god, and Buddhism being more philosophy/way-of-life than "religion,"...
I'm curious: how does this tool know what happened to the Buddha after he died?
Oh, right.. his book of fairy tales told him. :P

Buddha isn't God, though.
Buddhism only recognizes divine laws of the universe, they don't have a personal god or savior, more like a set of rules on how to acheive enlightenment.
Atheists are not Buddhists because:
We don't necessarily believe in reincarnation
We don't believe in the existence of nirvana, or a state of enlightenment
We don't necessarily follow Buddha's teachings
I'm pretty sure Buddha was single.
According to Buddhism, Buddha achieved enlightenment, so when he died, he would gone to Nirvana, I'm guessing.
Point is, I'm not a Buddhist and Buddhism may technically be described as atheism, but it has a spiritual aspect that makes it really more of a religion. They're basically mutually exclusive.
