Quote# 40198

[In response to a Lost Tribe found in Brazil]

They need to be sought out and taught of the saving power of Jesus Christ. The Gospels compel us to go to the far corners of the world with the good news - that He died for us so we might be saved.

The eternal souls of these people depend upon our revealing to them the Person of Christ. We ourselves are at fault if we do not attempt to destroy their ignorance, which can not save them. What they do with the information is their business. They can either chose to accept or decline. Only God can save.

Be we as soldiers of Christ must make every effort to reach them and all those who are lost.

This is what makes me believe that if we ever make contact with an alien race, some asshole is gonna spark an interstellar war by attempting to convert them to Christianity.

Let's send a drum-signal throughout the Amazon:

"Stock up on your tree-frog poison. They're coming."

You'll "save" them like those good missionaries "saved" the Australian Aboriginals? By forcing them on to reservations and stealing their kids to bring them up "Christian?"

I hope the lost tribe are headhunters and the missionaries get what they rightly deserve for cultural imperialism.

And that is the greatest problem with christianity. Everybody who is different than you is "lost and hellbound", and needs to be "saved". Tolerance and respect: you are doing them wrong.

Before I look at what anyone else posted

THAT IS THE LAST THING THEY NEED!!!!

They are happy - why do you want to make them miserable and judgemental

In any case - If God really exists then I am sure he has given them his message personally and they are fundies already

I quote, but I don't know who:

Eskimo: "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?"

Priest: "No, not if you did not know."

Eskimo: "Then why did you tell me?"

Hopefully, they'll end up converting YOU, as was the case with the Pirahã people nearby.

With people like Midfielder around, no one is safe from God's empty-minded fan club.

Yeah, this is the bit where the difference between 'peaceful' christianity and 'World Jihad' Islam gets a little fuzzy.

Apparently you're both intent on spreading your religion across the world at all costs, cause your sky-daddy tells you to.

Here's a thought, why don't you fuck off and leave them alone.

So a good person that just happened not to hear about it will be burning alongside the most evil people in history? Not to mention some of the most peace-loving people who just happened to choose another religion (like Gandhi or the Dalai Lama).

Wow, I am filled with awe at your deity's love and judgment.

Hopefully your canoe will sink in piranha-infested waters before you get there.

Bloody hell, do people really talk the missionary talk in the 21st century?

Uhhm no, they need to be vaccinated before we exterminate them with smallpox. Just like your kind did last time, remember?

@#1406607:

Well, we don't need to be worried about smallpox anymore, since it is quite effectively dead. Likewise for polio, and given the mosquitos, probably not malaria. But, yeah, all the rest of the diseases we carry would be a problem.

That's one of the reasons the North Sentinelese, on their island off the Andamans, haven't been contacted. That and their habit of throwing spears at anyone who comes close to them ...
