If any church preaches, teaches from other text (Bible KJV) you are not being taught from God's words. If you use any other bible (YOU ARE COMPRISEING) Muslim, Buddism, Mormon, Hindu and yes the Roman Catholic Church to name a few deny Christ are use a different bible.

Some say we are to comprise, that is NOT taught by Jesus.You either believe are not. The KJ was written as our way to live, not to take the part(s) we want. We are to live by it. We all sin everyday and we were born as sinners. There will be NO COMPRISE to enter Heaven. If you don't know Jesus you will be told "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye works of inquity"

I don't deny any such thing. To deny it would be to concede that they exist. At present I see no evidence your god exists nor that your Jesus is who his followers proclaim him to be. I will admit that a Jesus likely existed at around the right time and in roughly the right place but that's about as far as I'd go without some actual evidence.

Will someone explain to me what the holy hell is so special about the KJV of the Bible? I've never understood why it's supposed to be so great.

I'd take theirs over yours. Yours was essentially a political translation by James. Other Bibles (particularly newer ones) have much more accurate translations.

The word is COMPROMISE.

The O.T., which was stolen from a certain disenfranchised Semitic hill tribe of belligerent goatfuckers, is the only document that claims that their very own chaos god is the creator of the universe. The rest of the historical world laughed at those fools between the periodic exercise of slapping them down. Babylonians, Persians, Hellenes, Romans...Phoenicians?

Plainly and simply, a god of rape/pillage/plunder is not a creator (he might make a good Pastafarian though, if he follows all the rules). He attaches far too many conditions to his bullshit love.

"Born as sinners"...that has got to be the lamest reason for the demagagues to throw their guilt trip at the sheep. I prefer to think that that chaos god was the original sinner, its stupid ego trip being the original sin.

Jesus and his people were among the earlier Humanists, but lagging a bit behind the real centers of civilization by a few centuries. There is nothing other than a bunch of ghostwritten claims that the man was especially powerful and could do magic like raising the dead.

Whatever...the philosophy the Jesus purportedly taught, was far superior to that of the fool that claimed to be a god and father. I insist that there is absolutely no "family" connection between the two.

In my experience with religion, I admit to being powerfully drawn to the clean humanist philosophy that is meagerly doled out in the N.T., and like Tom Paine, I would gladly accept the Jesus character as a friend and advisor, but I don't understand why the asshole god still gets top billing.

I'll quit before I reiterate the whole Age of Reason.

Euh, more like revised the bible as they saw fit, and ... the Orthodox Catholic church isn't called Orthodox by chance, the Roman Catholic church is the result of generations upon generations of Bishops of Rome who thought that 'primus inter pares' ment that they could literally rule the world, as their god was nowhere in sight and not very likely to come around and contradict them.

which isn't surprising as they know just as well as we do that the whole god dude is a total figment of the imagination of some curly haired blokes with long beards in a cave (who needed something to keep the other tribes of Israel in line)

First off, yelling ain't gettin' you nowhere.

First off, the KJV isn't the original english trasnlation. It actually has its' base in greek, hebrew, and the Geneva bible as well as other sources, none of which are original copies to start with. Muslim, buddhism, and hindu are not christian based, The Roma Cathoic Church was around longer than the KJV by about 1000 years or so. As for the Mormons, their bible to many, including them is actually a supplimental.

Much like believing in something that isnt' in the KJV, like ...say... the rapture.

Ah, Phonix beat me to it! I haven't been a Christian for a long time, but I still know that verse, in the KJV version, by heart! So I was going to point out that, for somebody who has such a hard on for the KJV, it's too bad he can't even quote it right.

However, while I'm here, a couple of other points. One, King James was not a Catholic. He was the head of the Church of England--the fact that he was a Protestant is one of the reasons the crown went to him on the death of Queen Elizabeth I, rather than to one of the alternate heirs.

Second, James did not "write" or translate the KJV himself. He hired a group of scholars to do the job and authorized the work and the use of the resulting text in the Anglican church.
