Homosexuals in the Workplace. I could write a book on that topic. Years ago a homosexual asked me at least once a week when will we go out for drinks. At first I politely declined. He was determined and persistent. Finally I complained to a supervisor about his behavior. His employment was terminated the next day. I later learned that I was not the first person he harassed in that manner. He was warned on several other occasions about his behavior. I felt bad about his losing his job but he brought it upon himself.
I too witness every day the evil, arrogant, constant fowl mouthed comments of my coworkers. I try very hard to be the shining light but the deep darkness surrounding me every day is almost too much to bear. Quitting is not an option for me because I can not find another job that pays near as much as I earn now. I witness to them at every opportunity but my witnessing to them only seems to increase their behavior. It seems that they go out of their way to mock my faith. I pray continuously for them and for God to deliver me from them. I know that I am there for a reason. Perhaps one day my example will bear fruits.

"Fowl mouthed comments"? Oh dear god forbid, were they talking about CHICKENS???
Also, I think I need to fix something there...
"I witness AT them at every opportunity but my witnessing to them only seems to increase their behavior." Ah, much better.
I have been banned from RR. Went there to check out Daniel.
I should never used polysyllabic words in my posts. A dead give away.
"You have been banned for the following reason:
Troll
Date the ban will be lifted: Never"
These people have a very limited sense of humor. And they are going to live forever, very bored.
I am surprised you haven't been brought up on harassment charges about "Religious persecution" at the work place. Go take your bible whoring aka 'witnessing' out of the workplace. Keep your nose out of their business, and who knows, maybe they will leave you alone too.
So your coworker kept hitting on you despite your clear request that he stop. That's sexual harassment, and said coworker should have been fired for it.
HOWEVER, your coworkers are probably well aware of your religious views, no thanks to your "effort" to "hide" it. You, too, ought to be fired for harassment of your coworkers.
Lying for Jesus is still lying. Even if there really was someone who was sexually harassing you, I seriously doubt he would have been fired immediately , especially considering everyone's patience with your fucknuttery.
"Homosexuals in the Workplace. I could write a book on that topic"
Please don't.

If it happened the way you say, yes, he deserved to loose his job. But men and women harrass each other all the time. It isn't a homosexual thing. The majority of gays will leave you alone if you just tell them once you aren't interested.

What the hell is this?
"...fowl mouthed comments..." + "...one day my example will bear fruits." =
Gooseberries, everybody, gooseberries!!
(With apologies to Carol Channing)
The first part is kind of sad, really, and actually shows a small amount of tolerance that is so rare here. The second paragraph, however, just suggests the standard fundy pre-occupation with getting everyone around them to behave exactly as they do. Oh well...
"Perhaps one day my example will bear fruits"...
Can I say I it? Dare I say it?
Okay I will.
Daniel, I think if nothing else, your example has attracted fruits.
Interesting.
I work an a place that has a larger percentage of gays than the population at large.
I find that they are very modest and very clean in their speech.
I also find that coworkers often go out for drinks, just to relax at the end of the day. Or maybe to discuss something that happened.
Again, somehow they all know I am uninterested in other guys.
If you preached to me, you would get a good bible education, for example that Jesus was a false prophet, even if he might have been a nice guy. The messiah has not come, and you should be shunned your polytheism and idolatry.
You still have a chance for the Bosom of Abraham; Renounce Jesus!
So, let me get this gay... "go out for drinks" means "wanna have buttseks"?
It's a perfectly normal thing for coworkers to go out after work and have buttseks - I mean drinks! - and unwind after a long, hard... smooth shaft... I mean a long hard day! Aw, screw it. You found us out, Daniel!
It shames me to share the same first name as you.
I am so sick of the lying for Jesus bullshit.
What did he do, blow kisses at you whenever you tried to tell him he was an evil, hell bound sinner?
And maybe you should spend a little more time working and a little less telling your co-workers that they're going to hell. Anyway, why worry about the pay? Doesn't god say he'll take care of you? Or do you not have complete faith in your god?
Read the entire thread. It seems that every manager in America is a lesbian. And I thought mine was more of a cougar. And tech support is full of wiccans?
@cyborgtroy
Daniel isn't interested in a woman.
I think he is hot for the cock of their long haired, nordic, white, lightly muscled savior (look at their avatars and sigs on RR).
All incorrect of course.
Jews wore their hair short
A semite.
At least olive brown, possibly black
A carpenter at that time would be very well muscled.
Deep Darkness LOL

Okay, so... This guy asks you to get drinks and that's a big no-no? Was he really harassing anyone or did they just perceive it as such because he was gay? Maybe he just wanted to be friendly... And how is it not okay for him to ask people if they want to socialize (unless he was really harassing people, but somehow I kind of doubt it) and it is okay for you to 'witness' to people?
That's just messed up and I'd bet if this is really true the homosexual was fired simply for being homosexual.
@ SimpleDon
Hell, I was banned even BEFORE I got to get a membership- it might have had something with me using my same sig over there that I use here.
I've heard of paraniod- but damn, that's just ridiculous- I guess they don't want non-believers(TM) using up their bandwidth confusing the Sheeple with reality.
Do they maintain a blaclist of all dirty 'ole non-believers(TM)?
I'll just betcha they just LOVE us over here at FSTDT.
@ Mageapprentice
I saw one person get banned over there because she dared to say that the rapture may not come in our lifetimes. She believed in the rapture, just stated that people had been waiting 2000 years and how did we know it wasn't going to be another 1000 years.
So if they ban over something like that, anyone actually connected to reality is pure evil.
Wait, wait, wait. This has to be a troll. There is no way that anyone could write these two stories right next too each other and not draw the parallel that they were committing the same behavior as the "homosexual" guy only they had the excuse of trying to brainwash others into their crazy beliefs and the gay guiy just wanted to get some.
"I can not find another job that pays near as much as I earn now. [...] I know that I am there for a reason."
That reason is money, as you yourself pointed out. Greed is a mortal sin, so no Rapture for you.
I try very hard to be the shining light but the deep darkness surrounding me every day is almost too much to bear.
All you have to do is treat your co-workers in a civil manner and they will do the same to you. This would involve not spouting bullshit at them that has no basis in fact.
Quitting is not an option for me because I can not find another job that pays near as much as I earn now.
Tough. If you want to "witness" to people all day long, then become a pastor.
I witness to them at every opportunity but my witnessing to them only seems to increase their behavior.
If you spout ridiculous drivel at people, expect to be ridiculed.
It seems that they go out of their way to mock my faith.
Well if you would stop having a faith that was so easy to mock, then maybe they would get bored.
I know you feel bad, but lets face it, you brought it upon yourself.
I am rather glad to be in the UK. We don't have nutjobs like this here - at least not in my workplace. We do have a couple of gay workers but they are discreet. Everyone knows: but they are discreet.
The only harassment you get is from Roland - who is gay - who happens to be the Union organiser and he really, really wants you to sign up for the Union. He really, really wants to tell you about the fascinating pay negotiations...
I don't think we've got anyone openly Christian in the workplace.
Bear fruits....IN YOUR ASS!!
Ya know, there are a few homosexuals here at my job too. They asked me out for drinks all the time. Here's a little hint...JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE WANTS TO HAVE A BEER DOESN'T MEAN THEY WANT TO FUCK YOU!! JACKASS!!!
*sigh*
At first I politely declined. He was determined and persistent. Finally I complained to a supervisor about his behavior.
You know, assuming this isn't bullshit, you didn't have to go all the way from "polite decline" to "get his ass fired" in one go. Did it occur to you that perhaps you just didn't make yourself clear?
And, as has already been mentioned, lots of straight guys go drinking together. It's a social thing; perhaps you're not used to social activity outside the extremely limited example of your religious meetings, which tend to encourage seperation from and feelings of arrogant condescention toward anyone not in your little cult. It's not even as if the alcohol is a real barrier; most people will understand if you join them for drinks and the associated socialising and chat but don't actually take in any alcohol.

"You have been banned for the following reason:

Better than me, man. I got banned before I even got a chance to post!
You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.
Date the ban will be lifted: Never
"NO, no, gay man, go away, gay man go away! Now gather around, sinners, and heathens, while I enlighten you to the wonders of the Rapture!"
He has no idea what harassment is, does he?
"I witness to them at every opportunity but my witnessing to them only seems to increase their behavior."
So you're the office Angela, then?
Gays are subject to the same sexual harassment rules as straights. If a straight guy kept pestering a female coworker to go out for drinks after she said no, he'd get fired, too. Companies don't mess with this crap anymore.
If witnessing drives people away from God, why keep doing it? It sounds like this guy's motives aren't to convert people but to rub his beliefs in their faces and play "holier than thou".
I can believe this guy's story. Not because most gays are pervert-freaks, but because pervert-freaks exist in some companies (and generally get fired after a long history of lurid come-ons) I had a family member who worked for a company called Greggs Shipping or something like that in Edmonton, and the stories she was coming back with really were disturbing. Her friend got seriously groped and nothing was done about it, and she was receiving daily come-ons from some of the pathetic knobs that worked there. (Thankfully she's moved on to a lower-paying but more normal job).
And I won't comment on the 2nd paragraph except to maybe point out that 'fowl' means bird. If this guy is working in the kind of hellhole my relative was, and his religious delusions help him stay sane, power to him.
What do these people have against birds?!
And how stupid do you have to be to miss that your co-workers don't want to be preached at by some hypocritical idiot? The guy he got fired was probably popular.
Uh what a tit!
Maybe the dude was asking you and maybe a few others for an after works drink, you know to get to know you, hard day/week at whereever you work just go out for a relaxing drink not to get you so drunk you wake up th enext day with a sore arsehole!
It is the height of cluelessness that Daniel calls his co-workers arrogant.
Are fundies born with the ability to couch their pride and arrogance in the language of modesty and humility, or is it a skill anyone can learn?
Lying for Jesus? I think so.
Although I'm sure your coworkers detest you for being such a holier-than-thou, self-righteous bigot.
Another christian surrounded by "fowl" things he doesn't like? Move off the farm, ya fuckin' idiot! Seriously though, I'm starting to think that all of the "fowl" posts are one Poe operating under different names. I'm not saying that fundies aren't stupid, but how did they all actually agree to abuse the same word?
Anyway I have a story to share as well. Except that mine is actually true.
I used to work in a video store in West Hollywood. A community of almost 40,000 people with a concentration of homosexuals that rivals San Francisco. Out of one female and three male employees, I was the only straight. One of them seemed somewhat attracted to me(I could be wrong). He asked my orientation, I told him I was straight, and that was that. I actually became friends with all of them. That same coworker and myself took the same bus home at night. We had to wait an hour most nights, so we would go to the gay bar two doors down and take turns buying pitchers of beer. He would hit on other guys a bit, and always very politely introduced me as his "straight friend Neil." Nobody ever hit on me after that introduction, and I was never harrassed, touched, teased, or asked to leave. It was the most open and honest environment I have ever witnessed. No bigotry, no pressure, no expectations. I have never met a single christian, or group of christians who were so comfortable with themselves, or so respectful of others. Go figure!
You wouldn't believe the fowl things my co-workers say, too, Daniel.
One guy goes, "KAW, KAW, KAW!" while this other woman has the nerve to say, "Cheep, cheep, churrr-up! "
Blasphemous f*cking *sshole bullsh*t!
"What did he do, blow kisses at you whenever you tried to tell him he was an evil, hell bound sinner?"
@Antichrist: Thanks, that cracked me up. I needed the laughs after reading this bile.
"Homosexuals in the Workplace. I could write a book on that topic."
- However, since publishers have real-world standards (unlike Rapture Ready), no one would ever read it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
