Quote# 36048

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

last year my rabbit (see avatar) started to go blind in one eye (cataract) i prayed to the Lord last December to please spare her good eye...i could see a faint cataract forming & i prayed that it would not develop like the other one i thanked our Lord Jesus so much because the cataract didn't get worse
sadly at the end of February, 2 weeks ago i noticed that the cataract was getting bigger & whiter. i realized that BB was going blind in that eye too i was sad & cried but i didn't think that my Lord hadn't answered my prayer...because of him i'm able to keep going and accept what has happened to my beautiful girl.

i've come to understand that even when things don't go well our Lord Jesus is still our wonderful Lord & Savior no matter what!

thank you Lord for giving me your grace and peace to accept that not everything in life turns out how you want it too

So intercessionary prayer doesn't work then? Okay, noted.

And of course you hopefully learned that praying doesn't do anything ever? Nah who am I kidding your going to remain a dumb fuck. Sucks for your rabbit though.

'thank you Lord for giving me your grace and peace to accept that not everything in life turns out how you want it too'

Is she admiting that sometimes 'God' Screws up or... *gasp* fails!?!

In other words, praying was ineffective yet for some reason that strengthened your faith.

To be honest things like this make me feel pity more than anything else.

She didn't assign it to the Devil or anything. It's not that fundie. She's just not a fickle christian. So what? This is a fairly reasonable post in context.

So if God is going to do what he wants to anyway, why do you bother requesting anything at all?

Also, this reminds me of all those Christians that went blind trying to see a vision of Mary in the sun: http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?newsid=1152984

Hm... unwavering faith. Pity for the rabbit.

You prayed for a specific outcome and got just the opposite. If your vet were this incompetent with the rabbit, would you keep taking it to him? How is this distinguishable from abject failure of your god to answer prayer and reward faith?

And ironically I pray to Satan every night to blind the eyes of Christian girls' rabbits.

Did you consider taking your rabbit to the vet? I'm not genned up on bunny optometry. However, I would have thought that would be your first option.

Doctor Whom

OMFH, is anything not evidence of the power of prayer to you people?

Also, I second the comment about going to the vet.

You're a beacon of stupidity. NASCAR fans stand in awe of you.

*sigh* You just can't beat logic like that. I may just find my way back to the Church yet.

As it happens I prayed to the Flying Spaghetti Monster that your rabbit would get better and it didn't. Therefore the FSM also exists, for the exact same reasons that your god does.

"Oh well."

Thank you, god, for doing absolutely nothing. That proves you are real.

Real ineffectual and worthless, that is.

Isn't god wonderful! He can cause afflictions and irreperable damage to ANY innocent being just to test us. Hallelujah! Answer your pitiful prayers? Pfffft. Keep the faith. Praise Jeebus.
Maybe Mr. Ears isn't the only blind one there.

The jug of milk answers prayers.

And sorry about your rabbit, that's really sad.

There are these people called "veterinarians" who can remove things like that. It's probably quite expensive but it's possible I'm sure. Hell, we've been removing them from humans for a few thousand years at least so I can't imagine it's beyond our capability to remove one from a rabbit.

"i've come to understand that even when things don't go well our Lord Jesus is still our wonderful Lord & Savior no matter what!"

Yes, brainwashing is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

"thank you Lord for giving me your grace and peace to accept that not everything in life turns out how you want it too"

I seriously wish I could find a fucking job like your deity has. If I do something "good" I get a pat on the back and a bonus; if I do something incredibly moronic I not only get a pat on the back and a bonus but I also get promoted.

You people don't seem to realize how dangerous it is to think that anyone is wonderful no matter what they do. If your deity fucks up he should be held accountable the same as the rest of us. That is how one gains respect, not by demanding it in some ancient, dusty and outdated collection of fantastical stories on the threat of hellfire.

So, if you flip a coin and pray for it to come up heads...

It comes up heads and its the awesome power of Jesus helping you that made it so.

OR

It comes up tails and its the awesome power of Jesus helping you that made it so.

That quote isn't especially fundie.

@ BigBunny: Take yer pet to a vet. They can probably correct the cataracts.
